PRIMARY PURPOSE:Facilitate and implement the ASPIRe Autism Grant Program, with emphasis on Family Engagement and Community Involvement activities, and collaborate with ASPIRe SSA district and campus staff as well as outside agencies to formulate, develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate grant program goals. This position is also responsible for performing casework services to help students resolve personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their ability to participate in the benefits of the educational process. Responsible for assisting in the identification of families and children in need of social services and implementing program activities. This position is funded by the Innovative Services to Students with Autism Grant, with the primary purpose of supporting grant activities aimed at improving services to students with autism.QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certification:Bachelor?s Degree required, preferably in education, social work, or a related field Teacher Certification or Social Work certification preferredSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Assess parent and family needs for support and services Access community-based resources and agencies Demonstrate effective organizational and interpersonal skills Effective communication skills for conferencing with supervisors, staff, parents, and students Demonstrate effective marketing skills Develop and lead team-building efforts Organize and maintain accurate records Understand TEA and TISD policies, procedures, and expectations regarding parent and family engagement in their children?s education Provide on and off-site training to families and ensure the implementation of grant goals regarding parent and family engagement Promote program goals, recruit volunteers through public presentations Familiarity with evidenced-based practices that support parent and family well-being Strong technology skillsExperience:Three years experience in education, social services, or related field Experience with parent and family programs a plus
