Responsibilities:? Cleaning surfaces prior to layering paint. Abrades surfaces of metal or hard-composition objects to remove adhering scale, sand, paint, grease, tar, rust, and dirt, and to impart specified finish, using abrasive-blasting equipment.? Shovels or pours abrasives, such as sand, grit, or shot of specified grade into machine hopper.? Mask specified areas of object to protect from abrading reaction.? Controls valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle.? Starts & monitors the equipment that directs blast or flow of abrasive-laden compressed air, gas, or liquid over surfaces of parts.? Manually directs nozzle over surface of large parts or inserts arms through glove-fitted cabinet openings and manipulates small parts under nozzle for specified interval.? Responsible for examining finished products to ensure conformance to specifications.? Applies paint, epoxy, enamel, and other finishes to equipment, buildings, bridges, and/or other structures, using brushes, spray guns, or rollers.? Applies primers or sealers to prepare new surfaces, such as different types of metals, for finish coats.? Calculates amounts of required materials and estimate costs, based on surfaces measurements and/or work orders.? Covers surfaces with drop-cloths or masking tape and paper to protect surfaces during painting. Protects the surrounding environment by adhering to the best management practices associated with task procedures.? Always have a positive attitude towards customers being serviced as well as GC as a company.? Sweep work area daily or as needed, to ensure safe work area for all? Handles and maintains Personal Tools and Protective Equipment Required. Utilizing special safety equipment such as painting goggles.? Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that they are in working order.? Safely disposing of chemical waste.? Ensuring that high safety standards are met.? Utilizing different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface.? Using viscosity cups and thickness gauges to measure the amount of paint to be used and the texture of the paint.? Removing previous paint surfaces using masking or a chemical rinse.? Painting small items and doing touch-ups.? Ensuring proper ventilation after paint is applied.? Utilizing electroplating equipment to coat metal.? Polishing metallic surfaces.Requirements:? 3 or more years of previous experience in industrial/ marine coating/painting of heavy equipment.? Proper prep work? Sprayer experience? Sanding experience? Interior and exterior painting experience? Maintain a strong commitment to ensure safety and environmental standards? Knowledge of Hindi and/or English.
