Job Description

  • Will report functionally to business line discipline supervisor, and on project basis to the piping lead engineer.
  • Understand the requirements of the design quality system and meticulously ensure that these requirements are met.
  • Adhere to delivering the work per highest quality norms.
  • Be able to work in an international team of professionals.
  • Be able to execute the tasks within the assigned schedule and budget.
  • Be responsible for one or more assigned design areas and supervise a small team of junior designers/drafters.
  • Able to tutor & guide junior designers and develop their skillset in the world of piping.
  • Able to individually use preliminary design deliverables such as PFDs and equipment datasheets/list and take care of plant layout development in accordance with client, government and/or international standards.
  • Excellent abilities to accurately develop plant piping design using 2D and/or 3D design tools.
  • Work together closely with the otherdisciplines at all stages without guidance, ensuring information management to/from the team for the assigned design areas.
  • Where necessary support the lead engineer in attending (client) meetings, driving 3D (client) model reviews and comment resolution meetings.
  • Aware of basic pipe flexibility requirements and implementing them in the design.
  • As and when needed, be able to travel inside kingdom for field surveys related to the design work.
  • Be able to prepare presentable and accurate design deliverables such as: plot plans, equipment layouts, piping plans, isometrics, support drawings, material take-offs and able to train the junior designers to gain this experience.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 8+ years hands-on experience in Oil/Gas industry.
  • Must have proven hands-on experience with 3D design tool: Smartplant 3D.
  • Must have Proven hands-on experience with 2D design tools such as Microstation.
  • Good verbal and written English skills.
  • Solid Working knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards related to piping, plant layout, etc.
  • Good understanding of local government standards (HCIS SEC and SAF).
