Job Description

ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXTThis jobisfound in WFP Yemen Country Office,Turbah and the incumbent will be reporting to theProgramme Policy Officer or Head of Field Office.At this level, job holders are expected to demonstrate responsibility and initiative to respond independently to various queries with only general guidance. There is a requirement to use judgment in dealing with unforeseen operational problems on a daily basis. Job holders are expected to manage resources and coach and coordinate support staff.JOB PURPOSETo provide effective specialized support and technical analyses to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provide support to the implementation of GFA in the areas under Turbah FO?s responsibility in line with WFP?s wider programme policies and guidelines and the WFP Yemen CO ICSP.
  2. Coordinate and communicate with the GFD units from AO and CO and the CPs for the smooth implementation of GFD activities.
  3. Manage FRNs and FDP plans monthly incorporating the changes related to beneficiary numbers and the food baskets.
  4. Ensure that the CPs submit their CPDRs in a timely manner to make sure that they are paid in time by WFP.
  5. Keep track of HTS and produce DDRs on a daily basis.
  6. Assist in reconciliation of dispatch/delivery/distribution figures in event of any discrepancies.
  7. Assist in transfer modality shift from GFD to CBT when and where necessary.
  8. Review progress reports from the CPs ? monthly CPDRs and any other ad hoc reports.
  9. Coordinate with the FO?s M&E team to plan regular field visits to monitor food and cash distributions; conduct frequent field visits and report on the issues to improve programme delivery and support Field Monitors to conduct assessments
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (cont.)
  1. Engage with the targeting and registration team and facilitate the targeting process in the areas under Turbah FO.
  2. Attend the FSAC cluster meetings and debrief other programme staff on the meeting discussions and outcome
  3. Assist GFA in-kind activity lead in coordinating with WFP?s cooperating partners, local authorities, UN agencies, and NGOs to perform accurate food and nutrition security analyses and to ensure efficient delivery of food and nutrition assistance.
  4. Ensure and/or perform the accurate, timely recording of data within the specific technical area of work (e.g., assistance programmes, food security and vulnerability assessments) and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
  5. Act as a point of contact for the resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within a specific technical area of responsibility.
  6. Support capacity building of WFP staff, cooperating partners, and the local government within the thematic area of GFA.
  7. Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis.
  8. Any other task as required
