Job Description

Job PurposeManage, develop and implement standards and procedures in accordance with GCAA regulations to ensure that flight crew licenses are issued in a timely, cost-effective, regulatory compliant and accurate manner. Develop and maintain a documentation system for regulatory affairs documentation and the retention and dissemination of documentation from external sources and/or data from regulatory authorities.Job Outline:- Generic- Regularly analyse the performance and effectiveness of GCAA regulations to ensure the company operates at optimum performance within budgetary constraints and makes recommendations for changes in the regulations to the Regulatory Compliance Manager (RCM)/ Senior Manager Regulatory Affairs (SMRA).- Assist RCM/SMRA in specifying the processes/IT tools changes required to maintain compliance and meet future operations requirements.- With support from EGIT, develop, implement and maintain IT systems to meet the requirements of the licensing/regulatory affairs logistics to meet the planned growth in respect of planned manpower growth and cost reduction.- Build and maintain relationships with the GCAA with the aim of negotiating and influencing change to the regulations.- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback and develop direct reportees. Monitor performance, productivity and service standards ensuring the flight operations department requirements are met within budgetary and quality standards.- Flight Crew Licensing Specific- Review and update the flight crew licensing manual as appropriate for dissemination to appropriate management and staff.- Manage, develop and implement the procedural requirements for English Language assessment and air law examinations and process the associated e-licensing applications in accordance with the provisions of ICAO ANNEX 6 for both the existing pilot workforce and new pilots.- In liaison with the GCAA, develop, implement and maintain the procedural requirements for the issuance and renewal of the Crew Member Certificate ensuring that all the provisions of ICAO ANNEX 9 are met in full and in liaison with fleet management and RCM/SMRA ensure that subsequent crew visa issuance requirements are within statutory parameters.- Regulatory Affairs Specific- Ensure regulatory amendments for UAE and foreign states are reviewed for applicability to EK operations, in liaison with RCM and communicate required changes to the concerned departments.- Investigate any discrepancies in flight operations/cabin crew policies, advise the relevant parties and propose corrective action in liaison with RCM.- Management of the IT tools used by Regulatory Affairs to disseminate information to the crew (flight crew instruction and flight crew notice).- In liaison with RCM, ensure effective communications with third-parties regarding the production of the manuals managed by Regulatory Affairs (OM-A, Flight Crew Licensing Manual).- Ensure total working knowledge of UAE licensing for both pilot and cabin crew and provide assistance to carry out the Flight Crew Licensing Specialist duties and responsibilities, as required.Qualifications & ExperienceFlight Operations / Other : 5+ YearsBachelors Degree or EquivalentAviation experience, of which 3 years preferably at a supervisory level in flight operations preferred.Knowledge/skills:Expert knowledge of prevailing licensing requirements from UAE GCAA Regulations is preferable.A comprehensive knowledge of ICAO Annex 1, JAR-FCL and an understanding of Flight Operations administrative requirements would be an advantage.Salary & BenefitsJoin us in Dubai and enjoy an attractive tax-free salary and travel benefits that are exclusive to our industry, including discounts on flights and hotels stays around the world.
