Operations Manager (Freelance - Office-based)

Job Description

Provide support to the management team and report directly to the Operations Director. Ensure the successful implementation of the operational planning for the event. Oversee the operational elements of the entire project, focusing on efficiency and effectiveness. Supervise the preparation and planning of the Traffic Management Team, ensuring smooth traffic flow during the event. Manage the Security team and oversee the development and implementation of the Security plan. Collaborate with the Production team to secure and confirm all suppliers and deliverables for the event. Compile supplier briefing documents to provide clear instructions and expectations. Conduct pre- and post-load site inspections and prepare detailed reports. Ensure site operations and construction adhere to safety protocols. Manage the end-of-event pack up and dismantle process efficiently. Provide ongoing support to the Producer, Production team, and Project team throughout the event. Establish standard procedures and guidelines for the operations unit. Negotiate and adjust timescales or schedules as necessary to meet project requirements. Supervise the logistics team to ensure smooth coordination and execution of operational tasks. Manage operational and administrative functions to ensure efficient delivery of specific projects. Execute systematic operation and coordination management to optimize event operations. Collaborate with the Project Director and Operations Director to support key stakeholders. Liaise with Health & Safety to ensure compliance with all necessary COVID-19 protocols. Arrange site visits and coordinate event team participation in show run-throughs prior to the event date. Provide a detailed run-through sheet for on-site planning, scheduling, and dismantling once all details are confirmed.Requirements Previous experience in operations management or a related role, demonstrating the ability to successfully oversee and coordinate complex projects or events. Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple operational elements simultaneously and ensure efficient delivery. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with experience in supervising and motivating teams to achieve operational goals and deliver high-quality results. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to effectively navigate and resolve operational challenges that may arise during the planning and execution of events.
