Job Description

Job Purpose:To ensure compliance of internal and external reporting requirements of the bank in accordance with regulations and standards set by the Central bank of UAE and banks internal policies and procedures.To assist in management of Financial Control and Regulatory Reporting function of the bank for ensuring appropriate controls in place for banks financial controls.Principal Accountabilities:

  • Prepare required reports for the Central Bank in accordance with CB Prudential Regulations, Basel Compliance and IFRS which are not automated by the banks systems
  • To work on reporting portal of the bank, pull out reports required by CBUAE from systems and compare results of the same to ensure completeness, accuracy and legal compliance before submission to CBUAE portal. Ensure that the reporting system of bank is in compliance at all times the regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure timely submission of all Central Bank Returns on required frequencies.
  • Liaise with other departments of the bank including Risk, HR, Compliance etc to consolidate data for regulatory submissions.
  • Keep a history of all submitted returns for CBUAE inspections.
  • Able to respond to CBUAE inspection teams during regular inspections.
  • To ensure that the financial control framework of the bank is implemented properly in the bank.
  • To ensure proper controls are in place for Chart of Account and General Ledger Management.
  • Liaise with other functions for substantiation and confirmation of General Ledger Balances on required frequencies in accordance with banks policies.
Qualifications:
  • Qualified Chartered Accountant with Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 to 8 years working in a local UAE bank performing similar responsibilities [particularly regulatory returns to CBUAE] is a MUST. Exposure to technology [core banking and other systems] will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage well through ambiguity and complexity.
  • Ability to execute and follow-through to completion and documentation. Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail.
