Key Responsibilities:Financial Management:

1. Ensure timely preparation of statutory financial statements in full compliance with relevant IFRS, GAAP and regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies
2. Monitor financial performance across all channels, prepare financial reports, and provide insights to senior management. Provide strategic recommendations based on financial analysis and projections, cost identification and allocation, and revenue/expense analysis
3. Develop and manage the omnichannel retail budget, taking into account the unique financial requirements of various sales channels.
4. Manage cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable for the retail business.
5. Manage taxation matters including direct and indirect taxation and ensuring accurate and timely submission of tax returns with full compliance.
6. Implement financial policies and procedures tailored to the retail industry and ensure compliance with relevant retail regulations.
7. Collaborate with peers in Head Office

Legal Compliance for Retail:

1. Ensure the organization complies with all applicable retail and e-commerce legal and regulatory requirements, including consumer protection, data privacy, and online sales regulations.
2. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and legal documents related to retail operations, including vendor agreements, lease agreements, and e-commerce terms and conditions.
3. Handle legal disputes and liaise with external legal counsel when necessary, with a focus on resolving retail-related issues.
4. Maintain records of legal documents and contracts, especially those related to omnichannel retail operations.

Omnichannel Strategy Support:

1. Collaborate with senior management to develop financial and legal strategies that align with the organizations omnichannel retail objectives.
2. Provide recommendations and insights to support decision-making related to retail expansion, technology investments, and channel-specific initiatives.

Team Management:

1. Supervise and mentor finance and legal staff, if applicable, with a focus on fostering a culture of compliance, transparency, and professionalism within the department.
2. Collaborate cross-functionally with other retail and operations teams to ensure a seamless omnichannel customer experience.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field. A law degree (JD) is a strong plus.
• Professional certification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) orCertified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Financial Manager (CFM) may be required or preferred.
• Post qualification experience of a minimum of 10 years
• In-depth knowledge of financial principles, accounting practices, and legal regulations specific to the retail and e-commerce industries.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of omnichannel retail dynamics.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills, especially in the context of retail contracts and agreements.
• Attention to detail, high ethical standards, and a proactive approach to managing legal and financial risks.
• Prior experience in finance and legal roles within the retail or e-commerce industry, preferably in a managerial capacity.
