Role Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Financial Modeling to lead our quantitative team and drive the financial modeling efforts that underpin YDEs strategic and operational decisions. Based in Dubai, UAE, this role is crucial in supporting our growth across the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, and beyond. • Financial Analysis: Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of financial models, including lease calculators, bankable project/portfolio models, and corporate business plans.
• Forecasting: Prepare financial forecasts and integrate actual financial results with forecasted financials to maintain comprehensive financial projections for the group.
• Strategic Support: Provide data-driven insights through advanced analyses, reporting, and data visualization to support senior management in critical decision-making.

Support Strategic Initiatives

• Ad-hoc Modeling: Respond to ad-hoc financial modeling requests from the business development team to assess project feasibility and performance.
• Accounting Support: Collaborate with the accounting team to develop financial forecasts and reporting tools, ensuring alignment with complex accounting arrangements.

Leadership and Team Development

• Team Management: Supervise and motivate a high-performing financial modeling team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Talent Development: Recruit, develop, and retain top talent, ensuring the team meets its goals and contributes to YDEs overall mission.
• Operational Excellence: Proactively identify and resolve issues, managing multiple projects simultaneously while delivering quality results within tight deadlines.

Qualifications: Educational Background and Experience

• Essential:
• Bachelors Degree in Finance, Math, Computer Science (focus on data analysis), or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in financial modeling within project finance, corporate finance, infrastructure, or the energy sector.
• Preferred:
• Masters degree with a concentration in math, engineering, or computer science.
• Coding skills in Python, C++, Java, or other programming languages.
• Experience in the renewable energy sector (solar/wind) and knowledge of the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia markets.
• Proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

• Financial Acumen: Expert in developing and modifying financial models for debt and equity transactions, with a strong understanding of optimal financing structures and transaction risks.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead a team, manage relationships with key stakeholders, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Communication Skills: Ability to present complex financial concepts clearly and persuasively, adapting communication to the audiences knowledge level.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a high attention to detail, able to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
