Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Maintaining production/permit records. Follow up reports progress as required by commissioning engineers.
  • To follow instructions received from Commissioning Engineers in day to day commissioning activities.
  • Coordinate with other trades foreman to arrange commissioning deliverables and assistances.
  • Arrange permits and temporaries as per Commissioning Engineers instructions.
  • Line walk the installation before energization and make sure the installation is safe and up to requirements.
  • To assist Commissioning Engineers and vendors during commissioning.
  • Comply with yards safety quality standards and lead the team of technicians and guide them in day to day activities
  • Read and interpret drawings for subordinates
  • Coordination with other trades for the resolution of interface issue
  • Responsible to conduct Toolbox talks with the team members for different quality and safety related issues / alerts. Ensure that proper housekeeping is maintained throughout the process.
  • Pro-active participation in identifying process errors on-board / in the workshop highlighting and raising non-conformance through Occurrence reports. Raise corrective / preventive actions and control implementation of it.
  • Preparing turn over for next shift, Responsible for the safe usage of the company equipment and adequate control on materials wastage
  • Working as a team leader responsible for on job training and performance appraisals of the other team members, Have the ownership of success or failure as the case may be, on their projects.
  • Knowledge in operating computer applications mainly MS Office.
  • Able to use various test equipment and measuring instruments.
  • Good planning and execution skills, proven leadership quality, and communication skills.
  • Good knowledge in commissioning and pre-commissioning activities.
  • Should be conversant with applicable safe working practice, PTW Procedures, LOTO Procedures quality & standards.
  • Knowledge and experience in ship repair and new building yard.
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and other discipline related project and engineering documentation.
Experience / Qualification & Skills:
  • ITI OR Diploma in Electrical / Instrumentation.
  • MS Office.
  • 5 years of relevant supervisory experience in a shipyard / oil & gas industry, or related field.
