Job Description

Job PurposeSupport the Fire Safety team in the scheduling, implementation, and resolution of observations from the Fire prevention, protection, and detection programs across Emirates Group facilities in Dubai. Lead the management of the Emirates Group Fire Warden program to ensure sufficient and skilled resources are available to perform their role effectively.Job Outline:

  • Review and monitor fire alarm activation notifications received from Group Security and provide feedback to occupants / line managers on the risks of potential fire hazards.
  • Provide support to the Fire Protection Technical System Specialists in their day-to-day and other fire safety activities, including fire safety audits, fire investigation and fire protection systems testing.
  • Maximise the use of, and implement other Group Safety SMS applications as appropriate, e.g. systems, templates etc.
  • Liaise with Group Safety Promotions team to ensure appropriate and regular communication and / or literature is available for staff, line managers and other key stakeholders.
  • Liaise with Service Delivery to ensure appropriate and up to date Fire Safety briefings are conducted for all new Cabin Crew.
  • Manage all aspects of the Emirates Fire Warden program including supporting recruitment campaigns, managing a master database of volunteers, providing information and guidance to the business on their Fire Wardens, ongoing communication and awareness, face to face Fire Warden briefings and gathering feedback with an objective to continually review the program.
  • Provide support in fire evacuation drills in EK facilities ensuring that fire wardens respond accordingly. Provide feedback and / or improvements to the program.
  • Be responsible for the training material available for Fire Wardens, ensuring compliance to regulations.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on our Safety Management System and relevant safety critical procedures and undergo specialised training as needed to ensure effective support and recommendations are provided to operational departments.
  • Provide fire safety awareness presentations to company employees and other requesting parties as necessary.
Qualifications & ExperienceExperience:Medical Safety/Flight Safety : 5+ YearsQualifications:12 Years schooling or equivalent:Knowledge/skills:
  • Excellent written English.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiar with safety management systems, safety reporting systems, investigation techniques, human factors, and risk management.
  • Basic fire safety training from a training provider approved by the local authority.
  • NFPA 1: Fife Code, and NFPA 101: Life Safety Code - training arranged by Group Safety if not already obtained.
  • Dubai driving license.
  • Operational experience in the relevant field and ability to demonstrate strong technical writing skills.
