Description: Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our dynamic event companys finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, financial analysis, and an understanding of the event industry. The Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the companys financial transactions, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to the overall financial success of the organization.Responsibilities:Financial Reporting:Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements on a regular basis.Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions in the companys accounting system.Generate financial reports and dashboards for management to support decision-making.Accounts Payable and Receivable:Manage accounts payable process, including vendor invoices, purchase orders, and payments.Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding client invoices.Coordinate with clients and internal teams to resolve any billing or payment discrepancies.Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial forecasts.Monitor budget adherence and provide insights to management on budget vs. actual performance.General Ledger and Reconciliations:Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger entries.Expense Management:Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.Track and analyse company expenses, identifying areas for cost-saving opportunities.Financial Analysis:Conduct variance analysis to explain budget-to-actual differences.Analyse financial trends and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.Tax Compliance:Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations.Collaborate with external tax advisors to ensure accurate tax reporting.Internal Controls:Implement and maintain internal control procedures to safeguard company assets.Participate in periodic audits and ensure audit readiness.Process Improvement:Identify opportunities to streamline and improve financial processes.Propose and implement enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation is a plus.Proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in the events, entertainment, or hospitality industry.Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Excel for data analysis.Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is a plus.Join our team and be a key player in shaping the financial success of our exciting events company.
