Job Description

Overview of dutiesContributes to guest satisfaction and safety by respecting hygiene standards and proceduresCleans and maintains hotel crockery, cooking and kitchen equipmentEnsures everything is tidy during the washing process and in storageHelps prepare cold dishes and dessertsMain responsibilitiesActions cleaning duties within the kitchen, food preparation areas and scullery.Operates dishwashing machine as per instruction manualGeneral pantry duties and maintain cleanliness of pantry, fridges and freezersAssembly and preparation of ingredients for cookingAssist in the preparation of food as directed by the Executive Sous Chef or Chef StewardEnsure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.Maintain cleanliness and rotation of stock in pantry, fridge and freezersAssist with the receiving and storing of stockEnsure all kitchens are kept clean and tidy according to current Health & Hygiene regulations.Ensure each outlet is supplied with sanitized clean and dry operational equipment.To count, sort and prepare operating equipment as required.Ensure all operating equipment, crockery, cutlery & glassware is hygienically and safely stored.Ensure correct handling of chemicals and equipment as per manufacturers instructions.Follow the regular cleaning rosters and standard methods for deep cleaning of floors, walls, coolers, ovens & operating equipment.To contribute to cost control through energy conservation and the careful use of water, cleaning materials and other appliancesEnsure garbage is collected and disposed of correctly from all kitchen areas each shift.Utilize safe and hygienic methods for the removal of dry and wet waste.Cleans and tidies crockery and kitchen equipmentEnsures the working areas are cleanChecks the washing equipment is in good working order and informs his/her superior of any problems or anomalies Respects the suppliers instructions for use of washing-up productsHelps receive deliveries and tidies food items according to the storage guidelines REQUIREMENTS: Education / Professional experienceFluent English, Knowledge in additional language is definitely an advantagePrevious experience in a multicultural environment is essentialSkills / QualitiesTeam spiritWell organizedGood sense of hygienePhysical staying power
