The hospital is part of a group of 4 Medical Cities located in Riyadh, Jeddah and Al Ahsa with over 2000 beds between them.The Emergency Department sees up to 4000 patients per month and the out patient clinics see up to 7000 patients monthly. Other services include a Cardio Unit and Endoscopy Unit.The Hospital has excelled in the treatment of obesity under the supervision of outstanding medical team to conduct rare gastric bypass surgeries in the region. 399 successful surgeries have been carried out so far.There is Obstetrics and Gynecology clinic that is run by specialized consultants. There is also an Asthma clinic for immune and biological treatmentsThe Hospitals location between Dammam, Al Khobar and Dhahran -the most important cities in the eastern region- make it a strategic location.To apply for a post through Professional Connections at this hospital you must hold a European, North American, Australian or New Zealand passport as we are contracted by our client only to source from these territories.DescriptionJob Title: Nursing Shift CoordinatorDepartment: Nursing AdministrationResponsible to: Director, Clinical NursingBasic Function:-Is the representative of Nursing Administration on evenings, nights and week-ends for nursing, medical and other hospital and administrative staff.-Rotates day and night shifts.Principle DutiesClinical Practice-Guides patient care activities to be within established hospital, divisional and unit specific guidelines, policies and procedures, standards and protocols.-Guides patient placement according to patient acuity, nursing skills and resources availability.-Maintains high visibility (100% clinical presence) with staff / patients on area (s) of responsibility.-Takes direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations.-Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills when interacting with patients/families, other health care team members and members of other departments.-Complies with hospital infection control and safety protocols.Administration-Maintains awareness of and supports hospital and divisional fiscal and other resource initiatives.-Coordinates staff to ensure adequate nursing and resources for patient care.-Initiates the problem solving process and utilizes the nursing/medical administrative chain of command as required.-Liaisons with other departments to secure appropriate care for patients.-Informs Nurse Manager and CDNS of all patient/unit issues in a timely manner.-Maintains all records pertaining to the operation of the area of assignment and generates reports as required.Educational & Research:-Acts as a resource for nursing staff.-Assumes responsibility for own professional growth.-Participate in teaching and mentoring of Nursing, Medical and Paramedical students, Interns and Residents.Quality-Anticipates and acts to maintain a safe environment.-Assesses the standards of care delivered on units and the staffs clinical knowledge and skills. Takes immediate corrective action if required and reports finding to nurse managers in a timely manner.-Complies with and participates in Quality Improvement processes and activities.
