The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all lifting operations on site to ensure that they are carried out safely and in accordance with relevant legislation, codes of practice, and company procedures. The role requires close coordination with crane operators, riggers, signalers, and site management to maintain a safe lifting environment.Key Responsibilities:• Supervise all lifting operations on site, including crane lifts, rigging activities, and manual handling.• Ensure lifting plans and risk assessments are in place, understood, and followed.• Verify all lifting equipment is certified, properly maintained, and fit for use.• Conduct pre-lift meetings and toolbox talks with the lifting team.• Act as the main point of contact during lifting activities.• Monitor lifting crew to ensure compliance with safety regulations and site procedures.• Ensure all personnel involved in lifting operations are competent and certified.• Stop unsafe work and report hazards or incidents to management.• Maintain records of lifting operations and equipment inspections.Requirements:• Proven experience as a Lifting Supervisor or similar role.• Valid Lifting Supervisor certification (e.g., CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent depending on region).• Knowledge of lifting procedures, crane operations, and health and safety regulations.• Familiarity with load charts, rigging methods, and lifting gear inspection.• Ability to interpret lifting plans and technical drawings.• Strong leadership and communication skills.• Physically fit and able to work in various outdoor conditions.Preferred Qualifications:• Certification in Rigging & Slinging, Crane Operation, or Health & Safety.• First Aid certification.• Experience in construction, oil & gas, or marine industries.Working Conditions:• Full-time; may involve shift work or extended hours depending on project needs.• Site-based role, often outdoors and in potentially hazardous environments.• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
