Engineer - Design (Structural)

Job Description

Employment: Full Time Lead and manage a team of professional Structural draftsmenDevelop designs from project specificationsAllocate, prioritize and check the work of Structural draftsmen in his teamCheck and evaluate design and material specifications for tenderPrepare and check material data sheets and coordinate with procurement engineer to select materialsCoordinate with other members of the Engineering team for other tradesDocument, record and report meetings, progress of jobs and construction completions from design & validation reports from Project EngineersIncorporate feedback from projects and customers for design clarification and modifications during the development and construction project phasesManage the day-to-day modelling issues on the project as requiredEnsure the models are created in accordance with the BIM standards for the project and perform regular checks (e.g. audits) on the model to ensure his compliance with the project requirementsConduct regular design coordination reviews with the modelling team in coordination with the BIM coordinator and the senior mechanical engineer to identify and resolve any coordination errors or deficiencies in the modelsParticipate in design review and model co-ordination workshops (to perform design review BIM use) with the consultant REQUIREMENTS: Proficiency in written and spoken English (Arabic is a plus)B.Sc. in Engineering DegreeMinimum 2 years of work experience as a Structural Design EngineerExperience in the Structural field of buildings and infrastructure systemExperience in design and Shop drawing related to design office of construction company or consultantMicrosoft officeAutoCAD application design skillsSpecific software Application and especially Navisworks & Revit is a mustKnowledge of Structural local Standards (SBC, Civil Defense requirement, etc.)Knowledge of Local & International StandardsProficient knowledge in Engineering and Structural Design EngineeringProficient in preparing detailed design specificationsProficient in providing detailed drafts that match to specification scopeA robust collaborator and effective team playerExcellent communication, people management skills and problem solving skillsDelivery-oriented professional with proven records of delivering success
