Job Description

CLOSING DATE 12 April 2024.NOTE: Please ONLY apply if you have sufficient experience and skills required as per job description below.Job SummaryThis position is for an experienced welder who should be proficient in GMAW, GTAW, and SMAW welding. Working with robotic welding machines and programmable cladding machines.Responsibilities/Accountabilty & Authority

  • Follow all safety rules policies provided by NOV.
  • Welds together metal components of products, as specified by layout, blueprints, work order, welding procedures, or oral instructions.
  • Obtains specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun.
  • Connects cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, starts power supply to produce electric current.
  • Prepare product to be welded by grinding, drilling, milling, tapping and cutting steel/aluminum parts.
  • Examines weld for bead size and other specifications.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment.
  • Responsible for care, use, and protection of all company equipment. Know, understand, and follow all company and department safety rules.
  • Adhere and comply with state and federal law, the Company ISO Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.
  • Maintain clean and orderly work area. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform job duties accurately and responsible. Verify part and work order.
  • Check machine daily before operating and identifying risks.
  • Checking of Specifications, Work Orders, drawing and material and program.
  • Manufacture the part within given time.
  • Report problems to direct supervisor or manager.
  • Maintain traceability and inspection report.
  • Follow shop rules advised by supervisors.
  • Report all unsafe and or hazardous acts or conditions to Manager.
  • Report any damaged or misused equipment, including but not limited to gauges, fixtures, and instruments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
  • Assist with training when required
Behavioral Skills/Competencies & Experience Required
  • Diploma in relevant subject - preferred
  • Work experience - 1-3 years as Cladding and Welding Operator
  • Ability to read CAD drawings and welding symbols.
  • Knowledge of WPS, PQR and Job routings.
  • Experience in operating Automatic Arc machines and manual welding units such as Fronius and Arc Specialist in a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments and the application of such instruments. Instruments should include but not limited to calipers, ID and OD micrometers, indicators, and scales.
  • Experience in settings and tools selection
  • Must follow written and oral instructions.
  • Must be able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules as per company demand.
  • Must possess basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplications, division, geometry and algebra for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
  • Must be willing to work in any other departments
