Job Description

The opportunityProject: This is an opportunity to work on a large luxury mixed-use development in KSA, Riyadh. Mace is providing project management consultancy services. We are hiring an ambitious and forward-thinking senior logistics manager to join our established and growing team in KSA. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing and defining logistical aspects of the project execution plan in collaboration with the client and project delivery team.
  • Managing and motivating their element of the Mace project team identifying risks and opportunities to continually develop our people, project performance and succession plans at either project, programme level.
  • Managing and motivating their element of the project logistics team by listening and understanding the challenges each party faces and establishing support and alternative solutions to overcome potential issues.
  • Monitoring project performance on key areas and suggest corrective action where necessary (safety management, risk assessment, risk management, logistics management) utilising digital technology where applicable.
  • Planning site set-up to move labour, plant, and materials around site efficiently (i.e. hoarding, gates, site accommodation, cranes, hoists, security, temporary services, material delivery, waste management strategy etc.).
  • Planning internal and external logistics routes through the project phases focusing on separation of vehicles, machinery, and people, whilst taking into consideration interfaces with future planned works.
  • Creating a secure site.
  • Overseeing the traffic management internally and externally.
  • Creating operational procedures and method statements.
  • Organising site inductions, ensuring induction records are securely stored.
  • Creating a schedule of logistics meetings and ensuring logistics attendance at site meetings.
  • Planning and integration of key contractors to meet the needs of the planned programme and coordination the temporary use of space on site.
  • Managing Logistics contractors to deliver their package of goods or services.
  • Managing the variation control and early communication of foreseeable change.
  • Maintaining a detailed understanding of the commercial processes in operation.
  • Keeping a record of key performance indicator (KPI) production.
  • Ensuring method statements, risk assessments and lifting plans are produced.
  • Defining and organising all site signage to the agreed corporate standard.
  • Ensuring that signage and signage symbols used are internationally recognised.
  • Ensuring additional languages are used in signage to ensure messages are understood.
  • Maintaining an asset register of all equipment.
  • Ensuring all equipment is inspected, maintained, and tested to agreed frequencies.
About youYou have a degree qualification that is preferred but not essential, professional memberships are an advantage but not essential (CIOB / CMILT), extensive experience in managing on site, construction project logistics in the region and major international project experience is preferred. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams. You will have a construction or cost consultancy project management background and be hungry to grow your career and enjoy the opportunities Mace has to offer.
