Job Description

SummaryEssential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Implements health physics principles as applied to non-routine radiation utilization projects.
  2. Establishes procedures and provides service for personnel dosimetry, instrument calibration, area radiation, surveys, and radioactive waste disposal radiation protection service and surveillance of the cyclotron, neutron generator, hot cells, and laboratories associated with the cyclotron and gamma sterilization facility. Establishes in collaboration with others, safe procedures and containers for handling and shipping radioactive material throughout Saudi Arabia and the Middle East.
  3. Assists with x-ray works as required in conducting safety and performance measurements.
  4. Recognizes potential radiation safety problems, which must be prevented or minimized. Possesses necessary technical competence to accomplish this responsibility.
  5. Adjusts rapidly to changing priorities, due to the nature of the work.
  6. Provides direct assistance in generating start up procedures for CTI Health Physics operations and must technically supervise their implementation.
  7. Assists in developing innovative solutions to problems as they arise, in conjunction with others must ferret out potential problems ideally before they arise and seek solutions.
  8. Ensures that entire facility is under safe control. Maintains list of needed equipment along with operational characteristics and specifications and has purchase requests prepared.
  9. Performs and/or be responsible for special projects assigned by the Chairman, Biomedical Physics or direct supervisor as assigned.
  10. Participates in Department/Unit specific and Hospital wide quality improvement plan preferred.
  11. Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.
  12. Participates in self and others education, training and development as applicable.
EducationExperience RequiredOther Requirements(Certificates)Computer programming experience is preferred.
