Job Description

SummaryThe role is a critical role within the ENOWA Water Sector Business Development (Water BD) team with a key focus on financial modelling, forecasting, analysis, planning and development of Water Investments.The Water BD team is developing a number of large scale projects and ventures in water supply (desalination, brine resource recovery), water transmission and distribution, water management and wastewater recovery using innovative technology, and general water solutions, with joint venture partners. This role will assist the team to provide financial and business case analysis to develop and implement projects, including the negotiation of joint ventures and financing.Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

  • The successful candidate will support the Water BD team to develop projects/ventures and work closely with the ENOWA Water Brine Team, NEOM/ENOWA Legal and Finance, and project advisors (technical, commercial, financial, legal)
  • Preparing/reviewing accurate detailed financial models showing the capital expenditure, operational expenditure, financing structure (including non/limited recourse debt), ROI, NPV, IRR, free cash flows, sensitivity analysis etc., and to operate financial models prepared by external advisors
  • Analysis of financial transactions related to investments in the water sector, including the brine resource recovery chemicals complex
  • Prepare, review and/or analyze key commercial and financial terms, including key financing agreements and associated key financial covenants, and manage to financial close
  • Develop/review pricing and tariff mechanisms or pricing trends for key feedstocks, products/offtakes
  • Financial monitoring of projects in construction and operation
  • Prepare business case justifications on potential opportunities and transactions, and management presentations as required
  • Prepare and review business plans and commercial and financial due diligence
  • Understanding of engineering concepts related to water, brine, and chemical process plants
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and have the ability to bring structure to unstructured challenges
  • Be able to travel as and when required
  • Work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution
  • Be able to adapt to change in strategy and change in plans
  • Use tools and techniques to be able to extract insights in market information and be able to apply the changes to financial information and business plans
  • Should be able to clearly explain in a concise fashion the reason behind the choices and recommendation
Background, Skills
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance, Economics or Accounting, or
  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering (preferably Chemical), along with professional accreditation or memberships such as CFA or MBA from an internationally recognized institution
  • Minimum 7 years professional experience with strong applied working knowledge and experience of feasibility studies, business case development and modelling, strategic planning, strategic options development, financial statement analysis, investment appraisal, project finance and valuation techniques
  • Ideally, a track record with a leading financial advisory firm or bank
