Job Description

Atkins, a member of SNC Lavalin Group, is seeking an experienced Railway Project Director to lead and oversee our railway projects from conception to completion, to be based in Riyadh, KSA.Lead the planning, development, and execution of complex railway projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and client requirements.

  • Provide strategic direction, guidance, and leadership to project teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Develop and implement project management plans, including project schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Monitor project progress, track key milestones, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Oversee the coordination and integration of multidisciplinary project activities.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project compliance, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships.
  • Manage project budgets and financial performance, ensuring effective cost control and adherence to financial targets.
  • Conduct regular project reviews, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions to optimize project outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety regulations, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, progress updates, and key performance indicators to senior management and clients.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the project teams, promoting knowledge sharing and best practices.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes related to railway projects.
  • Bachelor/ Masters Degree in engineering from a reputed institution.
  • Proven experience in leading on large multi-disciplinary Rail projects is a must.
  • Proven success in the delivery of large capital projects within scope, time and budget
  • Experience in the planning, managing and successfully delivering on projects involving numerous stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills and proven ability to build, lead, organize, motivate and direct large multi-national organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact with clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Thorough understand of local standards, Approving Authority processes.
  • Be resilient with a can do attitude and able to work under pressure.
  • Be collaborative and able to work across regional and business boundaries.
  • Be an inspiration leader and set standards by example, to motivate the project team.
