verview:We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced consultant in assessing the impacts of Dust and Sand Storms (SDS) on various sectors, including human health, environment, infrastructure, and agriculture. The consultant will play a crucial role in analyzing and evaluating the effects of SDS events on the affected areas and communities. This position requires strong research, analytical, and communication abilities, as well as a deep understanding of climate change, meteorology, and SDS patterns.Responsibilities:1. Conduct comprehensive assessments of the impacts of Dust and Sand Storms on various sectors, including but not limited to human health, environment, infrastructure, and agriculture.2. Collect and analyze relevant data, including meteorological records, satellite imagery, air quality measurements, and stakeholder interviews, to develop a comprehensive understanding of the SDS events and their effects.3. Collaborate with other experts and stakeholders to identify vulnerable areas, populations, and sectors prone to SDS impacts.4. Develop methodologies and models to forecast and predict the occurrence and intensity of future SDS events and their potential impacts.5. Assess the economic costs and losses associated with SDS events, including damage to infrastructure, crop losses, healthcare costs, and disruptions to various industries.6. Identify adaptation and mitigation measures to reduce the impacts and vulnerabilities caused by SDS events.7. Provide expert advice and guidance to policymakers, government agencies, and relevant stakeholders on SDS-related issues, including the implementation of effective policies and strategies.8. Prepare clear and concise reports, presentations, and technical documents summarizing the findings, recommendations, and analysis of SDS impacts assessments.9. Stay up-to-date with the latest research, developments, and best practices related to SDS impacts assessment and mitigation strategies.10. Implement economic impact assessments for SDS, including selection of co-benefits methods applicable to SDS.11. Plan and design large-scale measures for SDS mitigation (source and impact) aligned with international best practices and guidance.
