Position: Project Manager - Marine Species Conservation, NEOMRole Purpose: NEOMs Natural Region is a system of protected areas comprising NEOMs marine, coastal, island and terrestrial areas, and designed to conserve, protect, and restore areas of natural and cultural importance for the benefit of current and future generations. The marine division requires project management support to deliver their species conservation initiatives, these can include but are not limited to:

  • Marine Biodiversity Surveys
  • Marine Rewilding Projects
  • Marine Restoration Projects
The main purpose of this role is to support the delivery of projects that form part of the Marine Species Conservation Programme of work, the tasks can include but are not limited to the following:
  • Project tracking and controls
  • Project administration
  • Liaising and coordinating project stakeholders
  • Government Affairs permits and approvals
  • Acquiring project resources
  • Project Planning and Execution
Key responsibilities: Primary Responsibilities:
  • Supports the marine species conservation team with the project delivery of the diverse range of projects within the Marine Conservation Division.
  • Implementation of a project management and controls framework to track projects and ensure delivery in line with Implementation Plan deadlines.
  • Ensures best practice for project delivery within the remit in line with NEOM processes, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures required permits and approvals are obtained for before project kick off.
  • To be the point of contact for all Government Affairs related correspondence and requests.
  • The maintaining of consistent records and file structure for projects within the Nature Region, to the requirements of NEOM Plan of Work.
  • Works closely with the Marine Division Procurement Administration Lead to ensure all project are smoothly running through the NEOM procurement process, supporting wherever required during any stages of the procurement process.
  • Evaluation of Contractors, suppliers, and delivery partners to ensure they are technically qualified to deliver on project scope.
  • Continuous monitoring and management of contractors, suppliers and delivery partners performance to ensure delivery performance and project scope objectives are met.
  • To support the marine species conservation team with all ad hoc project related requests.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
  • Proven track record of experience in Project Management role or similar role in large capital projects.
  • Fully versant in the application of Project Controls Processes and Procedures including Cost, Schedule, Risk Management including Quantitative Risk Management, and Change Management
  • Ability to utilize Project and Programme Management software tools.
  • Experience of both client-side and services/contractor-side project management desirable
  • Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability handle complexity, to work under pressure and at pace.
  • Excellent written and spoken communications skills.
  • English proficiency (Arabic is advantageous).
Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (or similar).
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Additional certification in Microsoft or other relevant technologies preferred.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in complex Projects delivery lifecycle, in multi-stakeholder environment.
