SummaryWorks as intra-oral and extra-oral dental radiographic equipment and produces clinical diagnostic radiographs of dental clinics.Essential Responsibilities and Duties1. Prepares dental x-ray room for each radiographic procedure using aseptic techniques. Utilizes Hospital accepted infection control, cross contamination, disinfection, sterilization, and hand washing procedures.2. Reviews exam orders and review corresponding protocol and if needed ask questions of referring Dentist.3. Escorts patients to x-ray room and explains, prepares and instructs patients regarding dental radiographic procedures to be performed.4. Positions patients for radiographic procedures with places and adjust lead apron to protect patients and minimize patient exposure to x-ray.5. Identifies correct teeth to be radiographed. Selects and positions film sensor in patients mouth. Positions equipment at proper distance and angle. Collimates x-ray beam to specified area. Activates machine and exposes film digital sensor, correct exposure and technique with the right dosage.6. Save and mounts digital intra-oral and extra-oral radiographs and apply proper documentation through dental software.7. Maintains adequate dental radiography supplies and instruments. Ensures all radiographic and processing equipment is maintained throughout the clinic. Documents all equipment repairs and maintenance reports during downtime.8. Transports portable x-ray units to patient areas or as assigned in and outside the organization, take radiographic images as ordered.EducationBachelors Degree in Radiology Sciences is required.Experience RequiredGrade 08:Two (2) years of related experience with Bachelors Degree is required.Grade 09:- Four (4) years as Dental Imaging Technologist at KFSH&RC, or (grade 08) related experience is required- Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the last four (4) years.- Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continued medical education [CME].Other Requirements(Certificates)Current Registration from country of origin and Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
