SummaryEssential Responsibilities and Duties1. Assumes primary responsibility for the care of patients referred for Radiological exams or procedures. This includes, but is not limited to: Ensures exams are indicated and appropriate based on available information (risk vs. benefits assessment). Performance of exams and procedures Dictation of results Verification of reports.2. Minimizes patient exposure to ionizing radiation according to (ALARA) As Low As Reasonably Achievable principles outlined in the hospital Radiation Safety Manual.3. Responsible for the timely completion, completeness and accuracy of Radiological reports.4.Provides on-call service and ensures availability and response time within the prescribed timeframe in accordance with hospital policy.Academic Responsibilities1. Supervises Residents and Fellows and ensures that their assigned work is performed within the scope of clearly defined and approved program guidelines.2. Abides by hospital medical staff bylaws, and all relevant rules, regulations and policies and keeps updated of any changes that might occur.3. Conducts education for residents and fellows and participates in the Departments educational activities.Research Responsibilities1. Participates in clinical, basic and translational research projects in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy in order to advance knowledge, improve the quality of post graduate education and contribute to the national and international recognition of KFSH & RC.Administrative Responsibilities1. Accepts and undertakes administrative and other assignments from the Section Head or Chairman.2. Attends Section, Department, and Organization staff meetings.3. Provides consultation to other services upon request.4. Follows all related policies and procedures.5. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.6.
