Job Description

SummaryConducts, overseas and manages various tasks, instruments, computing infrastructure, and techniques within Computational Sciences department for research and clinical practice. Implements, designs, develops methods to analyse, manage, interpret, visualize, and illustrate original scientific data.Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Conducts, overseas and manages various tasks, instruments, computing infrastructure, and techniques within Computational Sciences department for research and clinical practice. Implements, designs, develops methodsto analyze, manage, interpret, visualize, and illustrate original scientific data.
  2. . Operates and maintains the bioinformatics computing infrastructure and lab computing infrastructure, and keeps records of spare parts, licenses, and supply ordering.
  3. Operates and maintains the software systems, databases, web-applications, either developed in house orby a third-party, to support clinical activities and research.
  4. . Designs and develops advanced software tools, scripts, and database to help in processing and interpretation of data, management of genomic samples, tracking of samples, Lab Information Management Systems, collection, transfer, and archival of data and information.
  5. Operates and maintains the software systems, databases, web-applications, either developed in house orby a third-party, to support clinical activities and research.
  6. Monitors and evaluates performance of systems and quality of results. Develops and implements quality control procedures, including different types of testing, performance evaluation, and validation.

EducationGrade 11: Masters or Bachelors Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related discipline is required.Grade 12: PhD, Masters or Bachelor Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other related discipline is required.Experience RequiredGrade 11:Eight (8) years of related experience with Masters, or ten (10) years with Bachelors Degree is required.Grade 12:Three (3) years of Postdoctoral experience, seven (7) years of related experience with PhD, eleven (11) years with Masters, or thirteen (13) years with Bachelors Degree is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)N/A.
