SummaryParticipates in the organization, maintenance and mining of biological information through usage and development of tools, incorporating state-of-the-art engineering, advanced mathematics and computational processes. Contributes in developing strategies for acquisition of software and hardware.Essential Responsibilities and Duties2.Participates in developing purpose-built integrated biological databases, novel software and algorithms to facilitate scientific investigation. 3.Uses existing databases and analytical tools for discovery and/or validation of biological processes to meet specific scientific project needs. 4.Supports development and maintenance of Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for efficient sample tracking, data acquisition, data storage and dissemination.5.Participates in testing new and updated bioinformatics tools and software.6.Consults with researchers to analyse problems, recommend technology-based solutions, or determine computational strategies. 7.Analyses, interprets and communicates research results through conference presentations, scientific publications, or project reports.8.Follows all Hospital related policies and procedures.9.Participates in self and others education, training and development as applicable.10.Performs any other related duties as assigned.EducationDoctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree, or Doctor of Science (DSc) Degree from an accredited institution in ascientific discipline relevant to the research field is required.Experience RequiredSix (6) years of directly related experience post-doctoral degree required.Other Requirements(Certificates)
