Associate Director - Cost Management

Job Description

The opportunityThis is an opportunity to be involved in the delivery of major sports stadia and associated projects in Saudi Arabia. Project: Mace is currently bidding for this programme which will require high-calibre and experienced people to lead teams throughout each phase of the project. Your responsibilities will include:

• Serving as a client-facing commercial lead who assists with strategic, tactical, and technical advice.
• Managing and growing cost management teams or accounts.
• Conducting feasibility studies and production of procurement reports.
• Applying value management techniques at the outset of a project involving existing protocols and systems.
• Managing, estimating and cost planning activities to include taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
• Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages including, pre-qualification, enquiry, evaluation, selection and contract preparation are performed effectively.
• Ensuring that post-contract cost variances, change control, cost checking and valuation processes are managed effectively.
• Ensuring the production of monthly post contract and cost reports and presenting them to the client.
• Providing value engineering and life cycle costing.
• Managing the final account negotiation and agreement.
• Interfacing with clients, and external and internal consultants at all project stages.
• Ongoing updating of benchmarking efforts as new projects are executed to provide real cost data to a client.
• Day-to-day cost management of small to medium-scale client projects including procurement, pay requests, change management, and cost reporting.
• Inputting of contracts and pay requests into clients online approval system.
• Producing of ROMs for new and pipeline projects for a project budget to be based on.

About youYou have relevant degree qualifications and be a member of a professional body. You have experience in leading and managing teams of commercial managers and/or cost consultants is essential. You have experience in commercial roles on major projects/programmes and sports experience is preferred. You are digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships, and support strong, motivated teams.
