Job Description

SummaryAssists daily surgery schedule management for all operating room locations, as well as all aspects of the scheduling process including strategizing, problem-solving, and providing excellent customer service.Essential Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Assists with the daily review of all intra-operative documentation for accuracy, appropriateness, and completeness.
  2. Follows up with staff on a daily basis to ensure that intra-operative documentation is accurate, appropriate,and complete.
  3. Checks the readability of scheduled cases for sequence and room appropriateness, and ensures that patients are cleared from Pre-Anesthesia and Inpatient Consultation two working days in advance.
  4. Performs the required checks for finalizing the Operating Room schedule related to ancillary operating roomservices, such as X-Ray bookings, ICUs, DSUs, Intraoperative Physiology Monitoring, associating encounters, etc.
  5. Processes all surgical requests and schedules all patients accurately, effectively, and appropriately based on clinical knowledge, set average times, and any other elements. Any changes to the finalized schedule will be reported to the appropriate staff in a timely manner.
  6. Collaborates closely with Clinical Nurse Coordinators to avoid equipment or supply conflicts.
  7. Reports any work-related problems or issues to the Manager, Operating Room Scheduling & Data Management.
  8. Follows all Hospitals related Policies and Procedures.
  9. Participates in self and others education, training and development, as applicable.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned.
EducationBachelors or Associate Degree/Diploma in Operating Room Management, Healthcare, or other related discipline is required.Experience RequiredTwo (2) years of related experience with Bachelors, or four (4) years with Associate Degree/Diploma is required.Other Requirements(Certificates)N/A
