About the job Geotechnical EngineerDepartment:ÿMRMLocation:ÿReko Diq Mine Site- BaluchistanPosition:ÿGeotechnical EngineerQualification:ÿBachelors in geotechnical engineering or civil engineering (MSc will be a plus).Experience:ÿ3 - 6 years of relevant experience. Must have some design experience (civil and/or geotechnical and/or mining).Role Summary:

  • Oversee property slope stability functions for pits, stockpiles, waste rock facilities and tailings facilities.
  • Manage and coordinate with consultants, water management, structural geology, slope stability designs, mine planning, and civil designs.
  • Communicate relevant slope stability information and concerns to site management in a timely, concise, and accurate manner.
  • Manage, document, and communicate slope stability monitoring of relevant infrastructure.
  • Actively seek improvements to safeguard people, equipment and mineral resources through monitoring programs, designs, blasting, data acquisition and analysis to deliver on study programs and production.
  • Develop, maintain, and integrate geotechnical models into the mine plans to ensure optimal mineral exploitation.
  • Work on complex problems and implement solutions through multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Track and update quarterly and annual budgets. Assist with long-term budget inputs.
  • Supervise contractors, junior engineers and technicians in field work and data collection.
  • Perform 2D and 3D Finite Element Modelling (Desvik, Leapfrog, Slope/w, Plaxis etc.)
  • Assist in report preparations and competent in using MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Perform other duties as required.
