Job Description

About this role:

  • Provide oversight for contractor safety performance by providing on-site safety support and coaching.
  • Assist in the planning and safe execution of work at the plant site to ensure that a safe work environment is always maintained.
  • Exercise and promote stop work responsibility, when necessary, and actively partner with contractor to rectify a situation appropriately and in a timely manner prior to re-start of work activities.
  • Ensure contractor and subcontractor compliance with EHS&S-related contract requirements, including policies and procedures.
  • Participate in hazard analysis, safety reviews and ensure that the safe execution is followed in the field accordingly.
  • Inspecting construction work locations regularly to identify address and eliminate potential safety hazards.
  • Participate and/or support EHSS related incident investigations, participate in Root-Cause Analysis, determine corrective actions, and communicate lesson learned reports as needed.
  • Review risk assessments associated with onsite work activities to ensure risk reduction is being met. Verify the accuracy and validity of onsite field activities associated with the risk assessment.
  • Ability to assess and address safety issues and concerns, at field level, with minimum oversight.
  • Participate in prestart-up safety reviews (PSSR), hazard analysis, safety reviews and promotion of safe work practices on site.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, performance evaluation and inspections to provide input and expertise where necessary.
  • Conduct hazard identifications, PPE assessments, project safety reviews, verification of adequate tools and equipment, ensure adequate job safety analysis (JSA) for work activities are created and utilized to meet or exceed occupational safety and construction safety program expectations.
  • Conduct occupational safety oversight, monitoring, support, and guidance for all contractors on-site to meet the expectations of the Projects safety strategy and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse multinational workforce.
  • Ability to regularly assist in the facilitation approval process of RLIC work permits and other EHSS related processes.
  • Assist and review development of training modules for the occupation safety standards, policies, and procedures for contractors.
  • Assist in reviewing occupational safety training programs, the delivery methods to the various multinational languages and retention evaluations of trainees.
  • Assist in regularly evaluating the effectiveness of the training programs and being able to advise in path forward in correcting the issues and concerns that will enable the trainees to clearly understand the training being issued and to demonstrate their understanding of the training content.
What you need to bring:
  • Safety Certification from any internationally recognized body (i.e NEBOSH, IOSH, NSC, BCSP etc...) OR a certification as Safety Professional from an internationally recognized body.
  • Diploma in Engineering or any related discipline with Safety Certification. Qualified in mobile and fixed crane safety, including lift plans, critical lift hazard evaluations, rigging and flagger safety.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the O&G Industry/construction industry
  • Minimum 10 years of experience on large 5000+ multinational personnel work sites
  • Experience in Petrochemicals Industry in Safety field with Construction/Turnarounds
  • English- proficient
  • Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, etc (Since the work force mostly comes from Asian countries)
