Job Title: Heavy Equipment MechanicJob Purpose: Heavy equipment mechanics workwith vehicles andmachinesused in construction and transport to inspect,repairand maintain them. Heavy equipment mechanicsdo more than just enginerepair, and must have knowledge of electrical systems, hydraulics, fuel and brake lines and more.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/KNOWLEDGEQualifications and Education: Experience: Minimum 5+ years? experience in the same fieldTraining:N/AKnowledge: N/AJOB ACCOUNTABILITIES AND CURRENT OBJECTIVES:1.Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers specifications. Inspecting trucks, cranes, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment for proper performance.2.Repair and replace damaged or worn parts. Operate and inspect machines or heavy equipment in order to diagnose defects, repairs flat tires and changes tires as necessary.3.Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools.4.Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment and vehicles. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometres and gauges.5.Schedule maintenance for industrial machines and equipment and keep equipment service records.
