Backup Administrator

Job Description

Responsibilities: Check servers and follow up with the manufacturer in case of faults. Open incident ticket with the manufacturer and follow up until resolving problems. Install security updates according to the procedures followed with cyber security. Provide the necessary support to the Ministrys servers team in solving problems and implementing set requirements. Apply standard cyber security requirements for preventive systems installation and proper activation across all servers. Install applications and services according to Ministry requirements. Monitor servers and resolve related problems in cooperation with the system owner (Servers Department). Respond to a supportive system for the implementation of virtual environment services Respond to attend to emergencies and emergency meetings until the problem is resolved. Requirement: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience as a Backup Administrator or similar role, managing backup systems and processes. Strong knowledge of backup technologies, methodologies, and best practices. Experience with backup software, such as Commvault, Veeam, or Veritas NetBackup. Familiarity with storage technologies, including disk-based storage, tape libraries, and cloud storage. Understanding of backup encryption, deduplication, and compression techniques. Knowledge of data recovery techniques, including granular file-level recovery and bare-metal restore. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex backup issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients, team members, and vendors. Relevant certifications, such as Certified Data Protection Specialist (CDPS) or Certified Backup and Recovery Engineer (CBRE), are highly desirable.
