Shell has provided pioneering technologies and expertise to Oman?s energy industry helping to create sustainable value for Oman.Position Purpose:The Senior Integrated Activity Planning and Integrated Production Planning (IAP/IPP) Engineer has the overall responsibility to define, establish and execute the Integrated Activity Planning & Scheduling (IAPS) process for the SDO Operated Assets. Activities span exploration, appraisal, development, project, operate and maintain phases. For Assets with Hydrocarbon production the Senior IAP/IPP engineer is responsible to define, establish and execute the Integrated Production (and sales) Plan for the different planning horizons.The role is the Site Process Focal Point (SPFP)/ Subject Matter Expert for the Shell Asset Management System (AMS) Integrated Activity Planning & Scheduling (IAPS), Forecast & Plan Production (FPP) work processes and shall be responsible to measure, analyze performance for an improved business outcome.Position Responsibilities:The position reports to the Production Support Lead within the Gas Asset Organisation. The position responsibilities span a range of desired outcomes and include:Role key deliverablesIntegrated Activity Planning and Scheduling is the process in which all activities to be executed on an oil and gas asset are integrated and rationalized to achieve maximum availability of these producing assets and optimize and control the cost of operation. The Senior IAP/IPP engineer shall be the driving force behind the implementation of IAPS / FPP process and tools in SDO and specifically.

  • establish and implement AMS-compliant, local management systems and processes for IAPS / FPP. This includes measuring and monitoring performance metrics, work process management and assurance, and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement and deliver business results.
  • bring together the various departmental activities into a single plan that is feasible (do-able) and optimized to reflect SDO business priorities and resource constraints (staff, rigs, materials & equipment, funding, contracts and agreements) in order to maximize uptime of SDO production facilities and optimize the use of shared resources.
  • delivering an integrated production plan which maximize business value
  • ensuring optimal use of all types of resources and avoid clashes between the activities to be executed within and between the different Concession blocks.
  • maintain critical interfaces across SDO departments, including Drilling, CWI, WRFM, Projects, logistics, exploration and Production & maintenance Operations
  • built key milestone plans for integrated asset concession development out of many functional plans
  • support functional planners in Project Services department where required.
Work Process specific deliverablesIntegrated Activity Planning and Scheduling (IAPS)
  • Manage the overall IAPS process (MT, ST and VST); monitoring and improving the quality of inputs from the various functional teams; the preparation and distribution of the key outputs (plans, scenarios and KPIs)
  • Setting up and running the monthly review and change control processes.
  • Integrating all activities into the 90-day & 2-year plans rolling plans.
  • Ensure roll over from Strategic Asset Mgt Plan and Program Build to 2y IAP planning to 90d IAP planning to 14d IAP planning is effective.
  • Take the lead in delivering optimised IAP performance for safety & production critical activities on facilities and wells.
  • Facilitate discussions with all departmental functional plan owners representing teams intending to execute work.
  • Liaise with the functional planners to ensure the effective collection of activity planning data.
  • Integrate plans in such a way that it maximizes the availability of assets, optimizes the delivery of reserves, production and cost targets taking account of all constraints e.g., HS&E, SIMOPS, resources, materials deliveries, shutdown windows, rigs, logistics and commercial obligations.
  • Prepare input materials and facilitating the IAPS meetings (ST and MT) necessary to ensure proper dialogue and decision-making occurs in reconciling any clashes with the functional plans and any plan optimization.
  • Ensure that activities entering the ST-IAPS window comply with the agreed Plan Entry Criteria.
  • Discuss the draft outcome of the IAPS/IPP with the SDO Operated Leadership for their approval.
  • Maintain the Shutdown planning window timings, driver, critical path, deferment data and other data in the Planning System.
  • Ensure the quality of Functional data and its compliance with the agreed Plan Entry Criteria (PEC). To take action to address all activity clashes and shortcomings in proposed activity data.
  • Collate and summarize actual planning performance data to analyse and prepare planning performance KPIs with supporting remedial actions and to present findings at monthly Planning meetings.
  • Ensure an effective medium-term, short-term, and very short-term planning process within SDO.
  • Manage (plan) change control including communication in line with established procedures.
  • If SIMOPS are identified as required, flag to the execution teams and functions to prepare SIMOPS management plans and ensure activity readiness criteria are met.
Forecast & Plan Production
  • Support Production Support Lead with IAP/IPP deliverables in support of Hydrocarbon Agreements.
  • Gather commercial input data for the production plan; contractual production/sales restrictions, changes in nomination, crude arrival volumes, product demand volumes, offtake constraint
  • Formalise assumptions and develop production plan in collaboration with development planner and IPSM engineer.
  • Assess sensitivities for production plan
  • Translate the approved Production Plan into operating targets and activities across the planning horizons.
IAPS / FPP Tools
  • Application Owner/ Custodian of Primavera IAP, SAP-Impress interface, IAPS Dashboard, and applicable functionality of Power BI, AIF
  • Implement effective production / sales planning and reporting tools
  • Provide training and support to functional planners on how to use the IAPS tools.
Manage Threats and Opportunities (MTO)
  • Identify production performance threats

  • Roll-out and apply AMS maintenance IT tools in line with global practices.

  • Maintain interface with SDO functional plan owners, Asset and Production leadership

  • Identify training and development requirements related to the AMS IAPS/FPP capabilities and tools with the aim to achieve effective and efficient practices.

What we need from YouQualification & Experience.
  • BSc/MSc in an Engineering Discipline
  • Professional with Minimum of 15 years? experience in the Production Engineering discipline of which a significant portion has been spent in a Production or Maintenance discipline.
  • At least 4 years prior experience as an Integrated Activity Planner
  • Two to four years prior experience in Production Planning or Production Programming
  • Projects execution planning experience is preferable.
  • Solid understanding of sub-surface discipline (i.e. Drilling, Workover & Well Services operations), Project execution and surface production / maintenance operations.
  • Computer literacy and working experience with SAP PM/PS and Projects IT systems
  • Certified Planner (PMI accreditation)
  • Certified in Primavera planning / database administration
