Job Description

To repair heavy industrial equipment to deliver safe, efficient, high-quality production outcomes.Action the SA Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) procedures to ensure safety and compliance .Continuously action the SA EHS Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including:Wearing correct PPEApplying the 5S principles; ensuring a clean and tidy work areaMaintaining the work areas, tool storages in a safe, efficient conditionCleaning the equipmentGenerating and closing equipment notificationsUse of job safe analysis toolsActively participate in the daily safe-start meetings and the weekly safety meetings. Attend EHS trainingConserve resources (eg; small tools) to minimize wasteKnow and apply the SA authorisation and isolation procedures, for example:Inform the Supervisor immediately of any accidents or unforeseen problemsBe aware of the protected work areas and those who have authority to enter these areasAttend incident report investigations.Repair and maintain the equipment to maximize operational reliability at the optimum cost. Troubleshoot problemsPerform work to Sohar Aluminums standard work procedures and practices, obey Plant and Department rulesAnalyse risks, implement appropriate controls, commencing each taskAnalyse, diagnose and correct equipment faultsExecute preventive and predictive maintenance to optimize availability and reliability and quickly return under-performing equipment to design specificationAction emergency breakdown repairs to minimize downtimeTasks will include:Input information to the SAP Plant Maintenance module (eg: create reservations/spending, raise requisitions to procure materials, create closure)Operate and maintain equipment as per SOP, where applicable.Think about ways to improve practices and procedures. Recommend improvements to the leadership Participate in CI Projects.Actively participate in training and development activities to enhance own development and to ensure a safe and productive workplaceDevelop own skills and knowledge by reading, participating in HRD training activities and by practicing new skillsCoach others. Assist others to train new recruitsKnow and apply the mobile equipment operating procedures1 to ensure safe, efficient production outcomes and to maximize the life of the equipmentLearn to recognize the hazards associated with the operation of mobile equipment.Take action to mitigate risk and ensure safe operation of the equipmentConduct daily checks on the mobile equipment which is assigned for use. Refer standard checklist.Perform basic troubleshooting and maintenance on pumps, compressors, valves, fans and other static and rotating power plant mechanical equipment.Align power plant equipment and their prime movers like pump & motor, fan & motor etc.Read mechanical drawings and P & ID diagrams for troubleshooting & maintenance. REQUIREMENTS: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with two years of relevant work experience.Generic Skills:English language: Good verbal English; the ability to read and understand technical documents in EnglishEHS: The capacity to learn and continuously execute the basic2 EHS policies and procedures which are required in a heavy industrial environmentSAP: Intermediate. The Job Holder is required to action transactions in the Plant Maintenance modules of SAP (eg: create reservations, raise requisitions to procure materials, create closure). The Job Holder must also use the basicSAP functions, including maintenance notifications and leave requests in SAP
