Shell has provided pioneering technologies and expertise to Oman?s energy industry helping to create sustainable value Oman.Position Purpose:The Maintenance Supervisor has the overall accountability to manage all facilities & concession area Maintenance Execution activities whilst providing leadership and technical guidance to the Maintenance Services Contractor personnel.The role is the Site Process Focal Point (SPFP)/ Coach for the Shell Asset Management System (AMS) Maintenance Execution (PME), Manage Equipment Care (MEC), Campaign (PTA) work processes and the Materials aspects of the Manage Supply Chain Process. The incumbent shall coach staff and maintenance Service Contractor resources on the work process requirements, skills and behaviors required to execute the respective work processes.The role will be Muscat based with frequent visits to the field facilitiesPosition Responsibilities:The position reports to the Senior MRTA Engineer within the Gas Asset Organisation. The position responsibilities span a range of desired outcomes and include:Role key deliverables

  • HSSE: act at all times in accordance with the SDO Health, Safety and Environment procedures and proactively manage all maintenance activities accordingly. Ensure competence of Maintenance Contractors and sub-contractors is in compliance with HSSE requirements.
  • AMS: responsible for the effective implementation and delivery of the Perform Maintenance Execution (PME), Manage Threats and Opportunities (MTO), Manage Equipment Care (MEC), Perform Turnarounds (PTA), and Manage Supply Chain (MSC) processes. This includes compliance to the AMS work processes mentioned above, measuring and monitoring performance metrics, work process management and assurance, and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement to deliver business results.
Work Process specific deliverablesPerform Maintenance Execution (PME)
  • Understanding and driving the Maintenance Execution process on the facility & concession.
  • Ensuring that all Corrective Maintenance work (including Civil, Water supply work) is screened, entered in SAP at the lowest practical level (i.e., equipment level), and assigned priority and completion date based on the Corrective Maintenance Prioritization Tool (CMPT).
  • Ensuring equipment breakdown flags are set when necessary, in SAP.
  • Reviewing the priority and completion dates in the CM Backlog regularly.
  • Consult Production Supervisor for setting Priority 1, Priority 2, and Simple Fix work.
  • Identifying fully planned work to be pulled forward when the published maintenance schedule is disrupted, or all scheduled work is completed.
  • Reviewing planned work to ensure that duration and cost estimates provided by the Maintenance Services Contractor Planning Team are acceptable and aligned with the approved scope for the work.
  • Reviewing the planning queues with Maintenance planner/scheduler on a regular basis to ensure notifications (work requests) are progressing to the scheduler?s queue in line with agreed upon priorities.
  • Determining if the draft 14-day/7-day schedule meets operational requirements and reviewing the schedule to be published by the Maintenance Scheduler.
  • Approving the frozen 7-day maintenance schedule and allocating activities to individual craft technicians in collaboration with the Production Supervisor
  • Providing daily and weekly updates on work in progress, carry-over work from the preceding week and work completion status to the Maintenance Scheduler.
  • Working with Operators to ensuring that permits and LOTOs are ready at the scheduled time.
  • Co-host the daily YTT coordination meeting to ensure progress to the frozen schedule.
  • Managing break-ins for the frozen 7-day maintenance schedule (including emergency Priority 1 and Priority 2 work).
  • Ensuring that all work has been closed out and confirmed with actual time recorded accurately after work is completed.
  • Ensuring work history is accurate and complete, breakdown flag is removed, and QM questions answered.
  • Providing the Technical Completion (TECO) of work orders in SAP.
  • Approving invoices for materials and services as part of the Requisition-to-Pay process.
  • Working closely with the Maintenance Execution Site Process Owner (SPO) to address training gaps and continuous improvement.
  • Serving as the Block 10 coach of the Maintenance Execution process.
  • Reviews maintenance KPIs through SAP drill downs, Business Objects reports, and to evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance at the facility.
  • Assurance of daily job safety meetings are being conducted effectively.
  • Conduct internal audits for both safety and regulatory compliance.
Manage Equipment Care (MEC)
  • Involving Snr MRTA Engineer and Technical Authorities for expert input on mitigations of impaired HSSE critical equipment functionality.
  • Ensure that HSSE CE barrier owners are known and competent to execute maintenance tasks
  • Evaluate maintenance data for improvement opportunities, gather performance data, monitor downtime and perform root cause analysis, leader in monitoring and troubleshooting downtime equipment working with Reliability Engineers
Work and Resource Preparation
  • Work with the Maintenance Service Contractor to optimize planning, preparation, and execution efficiency for maintenance campaigns
  • Ensuring that job feedback forms are completed by Maintenance Service contractor technicians and returned to the Maintenance Planning/scheduling Team.
  • Ensure that maintenance campaign learnings are captured and fed back to work preparation and planning teams
Manage Supply chain (MSC)
  • Coordinating with the Warehouseman and CP Organization to ensure appropriate inventory and stock levels.
  • Coordinating with Field Logistics Supervisor to ensure vehicles, trucks, cranes and other resources are available for work execution in line with the 7-day frozen schedule.
Management of Change (MOC)
  • Determining if work will trigger a need for Management of Change (MOC).
  • Review maintenance compliance deviations
Maintenance Services Contract
  • Be the SDO Company Contract Site Representative for the Maintenance Services Contracts responsible for managing the day-to-day interface with the Contractor representatives.
  • Deliver against the Post award contract management process and plan, monitor contractual KPIs for contract performance improvements.
Continuous Improvement
  • Mature ways of working of staff and service contractors enabled by Shell Shared Service Centre?s for maintenance Work preparation and planning within 4 years.
Ways of working
  • Ensure consistent application by Maintenance Services Contractor staff of AMS processes, standard methods, tools, and templates for delivery.
  • Ensure consistent application by Maintenance Services Contractor staff of AMS maintenance IT tools in line with global practices.
Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain interface with IAP Planner, MIE planner scheduler, logistics supervisor, production supervisor, Integrity Assurance- MMI Engineer, maintenance service contractors
People
  • Identify training and development requirements related to the AMS ME/MEC/MSC/MTO capabilities and tools with the aim to achieve effective and efficient Maintenance practices.
Dimensions:OPEX: Impacting Asset Integrity and efficient activity execution in the concession area.Specific Challenges
  • Support the implementation of a planned activity execution culture in the field & concession
  • Accountable for making the mini campaign maintenance approach work in the field.

What we need from YouQualification & Experience.
  • Minimum a bachelor?s degree in maintenance engineering or engineering discipline
  • Must have an overall experience of min. 10 years in Maintenance execution, reliability engineering in Upstream gas production & maintenance facilities.
  • At least 3 years prior experience as Maintenance Supervisor, or maintenance team lead
  • Experience as Contract site representative or Contract holder of maintenance contracts.
  • Must have demonstrable experience in training and coaching of staff in Maintenance Work processes
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis, understanding bad actors, maintenance, and repair, troubleshooting and analysis
  • Well experienced in use of SAP PM/MM systems, Inspection Management Software, Hand-held devices, SAP Business Warehouse, Power BI, Business Objects etc.
  • Skilled in maintenance execution, process safety, Supply chain Management, Asset Reliability, Equipment care plans and risk management
  • Can demonstrate to be skilled in Operational HSE management.
  • SIMOPS management experience is beneficial
