Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently looking for a Lead Project Engineer to join the Duqm Refinery Project in Oman

  • Work in coordination with procurement and subcontracting group as well as estimate department
  • Coordinate disciplines activities and control and forecast work area activities and deliverables against schedule
  • Coordinate with Junior Project Engineers during the preparation of key project documents (P&IDs, line list, equipment list etc.)
  • Organize, contribute and prepare notes for multidiscipline meetings to affect the timely completion of the requisition
  • Contribute and participate to work in an enthusiastic manner, working to the requirements of quality and environmental management systems maintained to ISO standards
  • Propose and recommend appropriate solution as necessary to maintain compliance with local authority requirements
  • Ensure that company policies, procedures and controls are adhered to, at all times
  • Lead the development of and approve all registers and reports
  • Devise own work methods and working practices independently within the framework of established policies and guidelines in order achieve project objectives as necessary
  • Be exposed to different cultures, backgrounds and environments. Attend to and resolve conflicts, challenges and problems related to a large multi-cultural and multi-discipline technical workforce
  • Execute activities with the highest required level of confidentiality
Skills / Qualifications
  • Degree in an engineering discipline from a recognized university preferably chemical engineering
  • Experience in Refinery commissioning / Operations
  • A minimum of fiteen years? experience in execution of major downstream Oil & Gas projects, of which a minimum of five years experience as Lead Project Engineer or leadership roles
  • Proven track record in Refinery Process Units project
  • Experienced as a Leader in Major Greenfield Refinery Projects
  • Experienced in the implementation of industry best practices and Companys systems, processes and standards
  • Proven ability to apply sound judgment and analytical skills due to the complex and diversified nature of the position
  • Extensive skills in management and leadership, team building, effective communication, conflict resolution and presentations
