Job Description

Overview / ResponsibilitiesWood is currently looking to appoint a Lead Contracts Engineer for the Duqm Refinery Project to be based at site in Oman on an 8 weeks ON / 2 weeks OFF rotationResponsibilities include but not limited to

  • Report to the Contract Manager
  • Produce weekly and monthly progress reports on contracting activities
  • Be responsible for the certification of the milestones and preparation of the payment certificates
  • Assist in day - to - day post award administration including reviewing and drafting correspondence, variations, invoices, bonds, insurances, and warranties
  • Attend meetings, interface, and liaise with the internal and external stakeholders (including client, EPC Contractor, and other project departments)
  • Monitor and ensure Company compliance with EPC contract
  • Ensure adequate project and contractual records are kept
  • Provide contractual advice and training to company employees in contracting practices and procedures
  • Contribute to risk management process and procedures
  • Perform any other tasks as necessary or requested by the Contracts Manager, General Manager, and Project Director
Skills / QualificationsBachelor?s in engineering or quantity surveying, Supply Chain Management or equivalent professional qualificationMaster?s Degree in relevant areas associated with Procurement & Contracts is preferredMembership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) is desirableHave at least 15 years experience in contract administration on capital projects valued at + $500mBe contractually and commercially astuteExhibit keen attention to detail and fastidious organizational expertiseBe able to demonstrate good teamwork skillsPreferably have experience of working in the Middle EastBe fluent in spoken and written EnglishCommercial acumen, negotiation skills and market analysisAbility to evaluate commercial proposals received from suppliersEffective communication, analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and interpersonal skillsUnderstanding of legal aspects related to the contracting industryKnowledge of refinery / petrochemical and related materials and equipment will be an advantageCompany OverviewWood is a global leader in engineering and consultancy across energy and the built environment, helping to unlock solutions to some of the world?s most critical challenges.
