Job Description

IT Software Engineer - Omanis only* Administer, monitor, and support business-critical applications, databases, and systems.* Provide on-call standby support after working hours.* Deliver software application support under the supervision of Sr. Application Architects.* Hands-on experience in working in Core Java, J2EE, PHP and .Net Based Application support, Troubleshooting, Fixing issues, and able to do application enhancements* Hands-on experience in managing SQLs using Relational databases ? Oracle / SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL server* Hands-on experience in scripting: JavaScript, Perl, Python.* Hands-on experience in support, monitoring, configuring, and security patching the Oracle Weblogic Server and Apache Tomcat server timely* Hands-on experience in shell scripts, XML, REST/SOAP web services, and web application development.* Hands-on experience in Git, Maven, Docker, podman, zookeeper etc* Knowledge of Linux servers and should have good hands-on experience with common Linux commands.* Familiar with understanding APIs and API query tools like Postman and SOAP UI.* Object-Oriented Analysis and design using common design patterns.* Proven experience in coordinating and communicating with different stakeholders for the closure of the issue* Proven experience in production support and log analysis.* Proven experience in Job and Process Monitoring, Identifying the root cause for failures and fixing the same.* Familiar in the Understanding of Could Support, Cloud Computing ? Microsoft Azure, Cloud Power BI and Golden Gate* Ability to adapt to change quickly, willingness to learn new and emerging technologies.* Ensure a high level of service to OICT customers and adhere to OICT IT Departments SLAs for response and resolutions.* Familiar with developing checklists for reoccurring problems.* Familiar with developing recommendations for procedures to prevent problems.* Performing analyses on software application functionality and suggesting improvements.* Exposure to Agile development methodologies.* Familiar with Continuous integration and continuous delivery CI/CD.* Familiar with Business continuity management and recovery process.* Familiar with tools/utilities such as Bitbucket / Jira / Confluence.* Familiar with the understanding of change and release management.* Perform internal testing for the patches, upgrades, and modifications in OICT applications.* Develop, test, and execute system implementation and regression plans for software releases, system version upgrades and new hardware platform migration.* Test and perform quality assurance for implemented and in-house developed applications, database patches, system configuration settings, etc.* Manage application migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality.* Protects operations by keeping information confidential.* Maintain and document system users access rights and privileges according to the function role and authority guidelines.* Perform Information Security related tasks and responsibilities and follow the information security practices set by OICTs information security policy.Skills* At least five years of experience as a Software Engineer or similar role in a medium to large organization. * Bachelors Degree in information technology/Computer Science or relevant discipline * Hands-on experience in Core Java, J2EE, PHP, Oracle / SQL Server, Postgres, MySQL server, shell scripts, XML, REST/SOAP web services, Git, Maven, Docker, podman, zookeeper, and .Net Based Application support. * Added advantage to hold one or more of the above technologies Qualifications/Certifications * Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
