Job Description

Overview / Responsibilities Wood is currently recruiting for a Health Advisory to join our Duqm Refinery ProjectReporting to the HSSE Manager, Health Advisor is responsible for the day to day management and the wellbeing of the workers at site of DUQM Refinery Project under delegated authority of HSSE&S: Ensure the implementation of processes and procedures for managing project health and safety requirements, and internal operating procedures in liaison with different stakeholders, and Coordinate with other HSE staff. Health Advisor position will act in accordance with Duqm refinery values and strategies, policies, guidelines, technology platform, HSE standards, Omanis government and other legal justifications, and best international practices in consonance with national objectives and Ethics standards.

  • Manages and organize the delivery of health services at Duqm refinery project;
  • Administration of the medical program and supervising medical personnel
  • Determination of physical and emotional fitness for work (Company and Contractors) diagnosing and treating of occupational and environmental diseases
  • Classification in case of any incident involving any medical support in Duqm Refinery (LTI - Lost Time Incident; MTC - Medical Treatment Case, RWC- Restricted Work Case; FAC - First aid Case; work and non-work related cases), and competently handling injuries including rehabilitation methods
  • Advising on techniques about health / sanitation education programs, and controlling the medial systems for maintaining medical records; in order to evaluate the interaction between work and health among the employees and contract staff
  • Ensure that the worksite operations and employees are minimized of the potential hazards and stressors of work processes.
Skills / Qualifications
  • Minimum qualification required is a college graduate degree (physician).
  • 6 years experience in the practice of Occupational Health and Primary Care in large industries, and 3 years in similar position.
  • Well versed in local Health and Safety regulations and documentation
  • Training in epidemiology, toxicology, biostatistics, and psychology is important.
  • Additional Qualification in Occupational Health or Public Health (Masters or at least Diploma)
  • Must be eligible to hold a license to practice medicine in Oman.
  • Prior experience of conducting safety skills and health programs.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis and performance / operation metrics.
  • Working knowledge of IT / Business infrastructure and MS Office.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and public speaking skills.
  • Aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • ATLS / Trauma Management certification.
