In Shell, we have been providing pioneering technologies and expertise in the energy industry and creating value for the community that we have been long part of.Whats the role?Accountable for the safe preparation, planning and execution of all Drilling, Completion and Well Intervention (CWI) activities, Hydraulic Fracturing, Well Testing and Abandonment operations in Oman Shell Exploration, Appraisal and Development Assets.Accountable for logistics and warehousing organisation and operational services for people, materials and waste management to support exploration, production, projects and wells activities.Accountabilities:

• HSSE:
  • Accountable for Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) in the planning and execution of all Wells Activities including new unit start up.
  • Drive excellence in HSE through implementation of Hazards and Effects identification and Management Process (HEMP) in all phases of well delivery, leading HAZID and HAZOP processes for non-routine or new operations.
  • Execute specifications and standards for HSE critical elements and technical uncertainties in well types, well concepts and technologies.
  • Conduct well site and contractor base visits on a regular basis to verify HSE compliance, promote and engage on HS&E issues and demonstrate visible safety leadership and commitment.
  • Champion and lead Assist and Assure HSE programme including the self-verification process for all safety critical areas.
  • Own, maintain and manage the Wells Risk Register along with required controls and mitigations, including the Venture Level Wells Risks.
  • Investigate all incidents and near misses, and lead Incident Review Panel as required.
  • Ownership of the Oman Shell Well Control Contingency Plans and Well Control Plans.
• Management:
  • Manage the Well Operations and Engineering teams including coaching and mentoring, annual individual performance contracts, mid-year/year-end reviews, individual development plans and competency-based development profile assessments for development and progression.
  • Own, support and implement the Shell GWDP (Global Well Delivery Process) processes and controls.
  • Contract Owner for Strategic and Tactical Contract, managing the interface with contractors on HSE, Quality and Performance including accountability for the verification of Contractor Compliance to Shell HSSE Control Framework
  • Member of the Venture Leadership Team for Exploration and Development Assets, driving integrated HSE, Business and Operational Excellence.
  • Represent Wells Function in Asset Meetings including Integrated Activity Planning, Business Planning, SIMOPS and Management of Change.
  • Manage interfaces with stakeholders including the Asset and Development Team, Drilling and CWI contractor, Partners, MEM and Other Operators.

• Technical:
  • Manage all aspects of Wells activities including the day-to-day HSE, well operations, unit moves, maintenance of operating units and equipment within approved budgets.
  • Coordinate all new Drilling, CWI, and Hydraulic Fracturing Unit Start-Up activities.
  • Manage the execution of the well work programs in accordance with agreed objectives, statutory regulations, local and global standards, in compliance to the of Management of Change process.
  • Provide guidance and expert judgment to the Drilling and CWI Supervisors on Drilling, CWI, Hydraulic Fracturing, and abandonment issues.
  • Maintain the availability and quality of the services and equipment provided under the Contracts.
  • Tracking of progress against cost and schedule, including identification and follow-up with deliverable and disciplines not under direct control.
  • Ensure After-Action Review and Lessons Learned as part of Continuous Improvement process.
  • Apply new technologies and best practices to add value to new projects.
  • Execute wells aspects of the Operations Philosophy and Asset Reference Plans.
  • Member of the Conventional Oil and Gas Wells Leadership team with shared responsibility for HSE, Quality, Performance and Business Improvement.

• Logistics
  • Accountable for Logistics Organisation and the delivery of safe, efficient, and effective service delivery operations to meet scheduled and ad hoc demand for People, Materials and Waste across the Upstream business including:
    • Development and implement Logistics Management Services Contract
    • Management of Logistics Contracts in accordance with Shell HSSE Control Framework and business objects.
    • Operational Excellence and compliance to Local and Global standards for Road Safety, Lifting & Hoisting and Waste Management Standards
    • Warehouse management including HSE and Performance
    • Develop and drive GHG agenda in Logistics Operations.
    • Logistics Monthly reports, including KPIs, tracking compliance and driving continuous improvement

Dimensions

• Anticipated +/- 2 Drilling units, 1 Integrated Frac Spread, +/- 2 Well Test Unit and +/- 2 CWI Unit.
• Drill, Complete and Hydraulically Fracture +/- 10 Exploration, Appraisal and Development Wells per year
• Supervision, management, and execution mode for Shell Operated Wells activities
• 5/2 office-based schedule with regular field visits, emergency, and operational duty out of hours.
• Logistics for projects scope including ongoing asset-based projects and civil construction of +/- 10 well pads / year including access roads, and subsequent surface equipment installation and hook up to production gathering system.
• Logistics for production and asset operations,

What we need from You

• Bachelor?s degree Level Education
• Shell Round 2 Certificate or Round 2 Diploma
• Proven track record and experience (15+ year) of execution excellence, delivering results and continuous improvement in well operations, including experience in:
• High Pressure High Temperature (HPHT), Hard Rock Drilling, Tight Gas, Horizontal Drilling, CWI and Hydraulic Fracturing operations
  • Multi well pad design operations with batch and concurrent Drilling, CWI and Hydraulic Fracturing operations
  • Selection and management of Drilling, CWI and Hydraulic Fracturing Units and Equipment
  • Casing and Tubing Design and Execution
  • Drill string Design and Directional Plan programming and execution
  • Well Control Equipment and Executing Well Control Operations
  • Drilling Fluid and Cementing Design planning and execution
  • Completion and Well Intervention planning and execution
  • Hydraulic Fracturing Design and Execution
  • Well Control and Well Control Contingency Planning and Execution
• Leadership capability with the determination and resilience to drive through positive change in a challenging and changing business environment.
• Personal and Process Safety Leadership with proven record for performance improvement
• Understand, develop, and execute logistics strategies including operating model, risk management, policies and procedures and performance management across people, materials, and waste.
• Experience managing and driving improvement in road transport safety in Upstream business.
• Ethical Leadership with the passion to champion and improve Worker Welfare
• Proven track record in developing people and building diverse and inclusive teams
• Highly developed stakeholder integration and influencing skills, with proven ability to influence, build relationships and to deliver across organisational boundaries, global and multi discipline teams, with both internal and external stakeholders
