A strong fundamental background inMaterials Scienceis a must. Candidates with materials and manufacturing backgrounds will be considered over other candidates.Assignment:The prospective faculty member will be assigned teaching undergraduate and graduate students, supervising final year projects, providing academic advising to students, initiating and cooperating in research in the field of expertise, and participating actively in the different committees at the Department, College and/or University level. RequirementsMinimum Qualifications:All candidates must have an earned Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree by the date of appointment in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited university. Targeted Candidates should at least satisfy the followings: * Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Record of or potential for strong scholarly achievements in relevant field.* A commitment to teaching excellence and an ongoing, externally funded research program.* Willingness to teach core undergraduate and graduate courses and offer electives in the particular area of specialty.* Active in research in the area of specialty and the ability to attract funds and work in collaborative research teams.* Willingness and preferably experience in participating in administrative academic duties.* Preferably, having experience with accreditation tasks and particularly ABET accreditation.
