The candidate must demonstrate a good record of excellence in research and teaching. We are seeking an Individual with a passion to make a positive contribution in both teaching and research. We are searching for candidates whose research is hypothesis-driven and can apply modern tools including tissue culture, DNA technology, and genetic engineering in areas related but not restricted to, heat and drought resistance and increasing biomass for biofuel production. In addition, candidates are expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses and perform community service activities.Terms and ConditionsCandidates are required to:- Teach Biology courses in their field of specialization- Provide sound academic advices to students- Participate in meetings of the Department and College committees and Boards as required- Carry out research and publish in reputable journals- Contribute to and ensure quality assurance in all academic and administrative duties- Contribute to Community Service by attending and participating in seminars and workshops.- Accept any other duties assigned by the Department or the College RequirementsRequirements:- Applicants must be Omani Nationals- Applicants must have an excellent record of good conduct- Academic credentials must be from an institution that is recognized and accredited by the Omani government.- Applicants must be well aware of using modern IT in education.- Priority will be given to applicants with experience in university teaching and research- Applicants can only apply foroneposition.- Sultan Qaboos University rules and regulations will be followed for the screening of the applications.Special Conditions for Asst.
