A unique opportunity has arisen for an experienced senior surveyor to join a highly respected commercial valuation department in an established chartered surveying firm. The ideal candidate will have no less than two years full time commercial valuation experience preferably working within the Oman real estate sector.What this opportunity involves:This role is based in our Muscat office and will involve a mix of valuation work for a range of top tier clients including banks, developers, investors, lending institutions, owners and occupiers who rely on our advice to make financial decisions, assess risks and ensure they adopt the correct management of individual properties and portfolios. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced surveyor to join a leading department operating in a fast paced and dynamic market.Key responsibilities:* Value commercial property within Oman by applying expert knowledge and awareness of the local property market.* Provide informed, market facing and independent advice on all commercial property types.* Reach firm and justifiable conclusions on values for work undertaken.* Act as a second signatory for valuation report sign-off in the team.* Prepare valuation models using Microsoft Excel, Argus Enterprise and Argus Developer.* Liaise with clients and ensure high quality advice is consistently delivered.* Take responsibility for the execution of instructions under minimum supervision.* Manage multiple instructions at the same time efficiently and effectively.* Assist with the development and maintenance of a strong client base.* Play an active role in the supervision and development of more junior team members reviewing reports, providing technical advice and APC guidance.* Work closely with senior team members on high profile instructions.* Support an expanding team in its business development objectives and continued growth in revenue.* Collaborate with other departments internally to maintain market knowledge and cross sell opportunities.Skills, knowledge and experience:* Chartered surveyor (MRICS) with a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience.* Must be an RICS registered valuer (registered APC assessor/counsellor is also desirable).* Comprehensive knowledge of valuation regulations and legislation.* Technically competent and numerate with a thorough knowledge and appreciation of key issues influencing the market.* Excellent communication and presentation skills.* Strong negotiation skills.* Excellent reporting and organisational skills.* Knowledge of Argus Enterprise and Developer is essential.* Skilled user of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).* A collaborative team player with the confidence and ability to work autonomously.* Willing to travel as required.* Valid Oman driving licence.* Omani nationals preferred.What you can expect from us:At Cavendish Maxwell, we foster a strong culture of mutual cooperation and knowledge sharing, where teams collaborate to address common problems and raise standards across the organisation.
