Job Description

StewardYou are an ambassador for the exceptional service and cuisine that are hallmarks of our Food and Beverage Department experience. As Steward, you will assist in the execution of memorable Food & Beverage experiences for our guests.Hotel Overview: Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel, is located only a few steps away from the Masjid Al Haram and the Holy Ka?aba. This 76-story hotel, one of the world?s tallest, is the focal point of the Abraj Al Bait Complex, part of the King Abdul Aziz Endowment Project, is the iconic symbol of hospitality in the Holy City. The hotel authentic hospitality is seen throughout 1618 guest rooms and suites are thoughtfully and elegantly appointed-with extravagant amenities and five-star services that allow for peaceful reflection and repose.Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Executive Chief Steward, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

  • Clean and prepare various foods for cooking or serving.
  • Load or unload trucks that deliver or pick up food and supplies.
  • Receive and store supplies.
  • Set up banquet tables.
  • Stock supplies such as food and utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and salad bars.
  • Transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas, by hand or using hand trucks.
  • Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots, and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand.
  • Clean walls, ceilings and floors, and garbage cans with water or steam.
  • Maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in clean and orderly condition.
  • Place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas.
  • Prepare and package individual place settings.
  • Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas.
  • Sweep and scrub floors.
  • Use high pressure cleaner where possible, and takes good.
Qualifications:
  • Secondary education desirable.
  • Good English language written and spoken.
  • Ability to work cohesively and collaboratively as part of the team.
  • Minimum of one-year working experience in the same field.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Window applications an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities.
  • Highly responsible & reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times.
