This position provides multiple opportunities for students to relay their expertise and provide mentorship to undergraduate pre-health professions students enrolled in the SHPEP . Afternoon dispersed curriculum assistance and gross anatomy lab teaching are areas of expertise needed. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Good verbal and written communication skills to be able to interact with faculty, staff, students, and any outside contacts. 2. Excellent computer skills to use various related software e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Google Docs, and other software programs required by the position. Must have a good working knowledge of the Internet. Required Qualifications 1 Must be a WesternU SHPEP Alumni 2. Education: Any combination of training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. 3. Experience: 1-2 years experience in a related field. Previous experience in and academic and/or health care setting is preferred. Preferred Qualifications List comments regarding work hours The work hours for this position will change as needed to meet the needs of the program. Facilitator will not exceed more than 20 hours a week for the duration of the program. Posting Date 06/24/2022 Closing Date Special Instructions to Applicants Essential Job Duties Job Duty Follow all SHPEP policies and procedures. Including completing initial SHPEP orientation and training and attending all SHPEP content-planning meetings. Percentage Of Time 15 Job Duty Conduct practical support and teaching to reinforce lessons presented by the Dental Admin. Percentage Of Time 50 Job Duty Through facilitation, develop an atmosphere of mutual trust and support within the SHPEP cohort. This includes reviewing material with students one-on-one or in small groups and at times processing of SHPEP student assessment materials. Percentage Of Time 25 Job Duty Perform additional duties related to supporting SHPEP operations.
