Benefit eligible.This position will remain open until filled, or at the discretion of Great Bay Community College.SCOPE OF WORK:Serves as Director of the Center for Academic Planning and Support (CAPS) and is responsible for developing, implementing and coordinating a comprehensive program of student support services and academic planning with the goal of student retention and success. This position reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Great Bay Community College.ACCOUNTABILITIES:* Directs the daily operations of the Center; guides and supervises the professional staff in the delivery of academic planning and support services; provides professional development opportunities and evaluates staff performance. * Develops CAPS operating budget in partnership with the Vice President of Academic Affairs and monitors expenditures. * Works in partnership with the Institutional Researcher to determine measures of effectiveness; collects appropriate data and develops term and annual reports. * Works with IT to update and maintain Center technology; hardware, software, peripherals, security and web access. * Develops, reviews, implements and oversees Center policies and practices that support Center operations in all areas of service. * Explores and applies for grant opportunities that will support the mission of the Center. Works with Center staff to develop and manage related programming and oversees grant budget expenditures. * Works collaboratively with Department Chairs/Program Coordinators, Director of Admissions and AVPAA of Academic Affairs to review research, trends, and outcomes for course placement through multiple measures. Builds Accuplacer test branching profiles according to decisions made. * Represents CAPS at college-wide meetings and interfaces with Student Services to ensure seamless transition from application to enrollment; works with senior staff to develop, implement and monitor strategic and community building initiatives. * Performs administrative duties associated with, maintaining a safe work environment, training employees, communicating job expectations; monitoring and appraising job performance; and managing employee time and attendance in accordance with CCSNH and College policies and procedures, the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, and state and federal regulations. Complies with all system, college, state and federal rules and regulations. * Performs other duties as assignedMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Master?s degree from a recognized college or university with major study in business, education, counseling or related field. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience Experience: Five years of career or academic counseling or teaching in an education or human services setting with responsibility for program development and implementation. Licensure/Certification: Eligibility for New Hampshire driver?s license, if necessary for travel throughout the stateSPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Knowledge of disability law in higher. Knowledge of federal regulations governing international student enrollment.RECOMMENDED WORK TRAITS:Considerable knowledge of counseling principles and techniques. Considerable knowledge of learning, behavior, and emotional patterns of young adults. Knowledge of personality, achievement, prognostic, and placement tests and the techniques involved in their use and interpretation. Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques. Ability to maintain rapport with students, faculty and staff. Ability to prepare reports. Ability to instruct students, faculty and staff concerning counseling techniques, leadership roles, and human relations.
