Assistant Director of Financial AidDepartment:Financial AidLocation:Nashua Community CollegePay Range:$44354.96 - $51668.76 Per YearAppointment Type:Covered Full-Time - Non-ExemptPosition Number::N1R00028Work Schedule:37.5 hours per weekSCOPE OF WORK:To participate in the management and administration of a comprehensive financial aid program at Nashua Community College. Some evening hours and Saturdays are required throughout the year. This position shall report to the Director of Financial Aid. In absence of the Director of Financial Aid this position will supervise the office and reportto the Vice President of Student and Community Affairs at Nashua Community College.ACCOUNTABILITIES:* Maintains current knowledge of federal and other student financial aid programs, guidelines and regulations; maintains membership on appropriate list serve; * Advises/Counsels students and families on federal financial aid policies and procedures; * Implements operating procedures and work methods to improve student service and office efficiency * Maintains effective working relationships and serves on committees with college administrators, faculty, and staff to ensure an understanding of the support for the financial aid programs; communicates with high school guidance counselors; communicates with state and federal agencies as needed; * Analyzes detailed financial documents and financial aid applications to determine student eligibility for financial aid and the amount and means of financial aid awards; packaging, awarding and disbursing of financial aid funds in accordance with state and federal regulations and system policies. * Utilizes various software and databases including but not limited to SCT BANNER, MS Office, Federal and State Software, ECSI, ELM, etc.; * Communicates scholarship opportunities to the campus community; * Manages day to day maintenance of Title IV programs as assigned by the Director; * Complies with College, System, State and Federal rules and regulations including, but not limited to, health and safety policies, State of New Hampshire Sexual Harassment Policy and civil rights laws; * Other duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Bachelor?s degree from a recognized college or university in Education, Business Administration, Accounting, Information Technology, Social Sciences or related fields. Each additional year of approved formal education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.Experience:Two years of professional or paraprofessional experience in student financial aid or related field, with responsibility for planning, monitoring programs, or performing research.
