Its teaching hospital, the Aga Khan University Hospital has been accredited by the prestigious Joint Commission International for achieving the highest international healthcare standards.Job Role / Responsibilities:Reporting to the Specialist, Information Technology you would be responsible for working with the end-user, infrastructure support and maintenance of communication system Networks. Specifically, you will be responsible for;

  • ensuring smooth and uninterrupted operations/maintenance of network at AKU
  • attending and resolving hardware networking calls as assigned by service desk related to LAN terminals in timely routine
  • testing, Installing, Maintaining, and repairing passive cabling infrastructure, including termination of CAT5/6 and fiber Cable, for Data Centres and all switching locations
  • designing and proposing passive networking infrastructure as per international standards
  • maintaining and monitoring passive cabling inventory and repair equipment tools
  • troubleshooting of switch configurations issue related to wired and wireless communication. Configuring multi-vendor switches and routers for installation
  • providing remote support to offsite users for efficient resolution of network communication issues and visiting site for necessary completion of work
  • preparing diagrams for inter-department and intra-department coordination
  • coordinating with other teams for project and operational activities
  • monitoring IT Service Desk emails and call queues, responding to queries in a timely and efficient manner
  • diagnosing basic hardware, software, telecom, and network tier I or II related issues
  • detecting and documenting the symptoms of hardware, software, telecom, and system problems
  • installing, configuring new equipment and providing support within allocated time
  • using diagnostic tools and remote desktop sharing tools to identify and fix problems
  • handling incident management and document diagnosis, investigation, and resolutions
  • researching, evaluating and providing feedback on problematic trends and patterns in customer support requirements; escalating unresolved issues to respective tier
  • maintaining a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles.
Eligibility Criteria/Requirements:You should have/be:
  • an Intermediate degree or technical diploma (DAE)
  • at least 4-5 years of relevant experience
  • good technical knowledge
  • the ability to perform duties effectively with minimum supervision
  • rich experience of network & structured cabling including fiber and copper
  • the ability to Understand requirements, develop solutions, follow procedures, and communicate effectively with clients, vendors and management. Successfully prioritize daily activities and lead/complete projects on schedule
  • knowledge of the operating characteristics of PC Desktop operating systems and troubleshooting skills.
  • hands-on experience of network equipment including Routers, Switches, IP Phones, Modems and Cables.
