Supervisor (Equipment), Department of Emergency MedicineEntity: Aga Khan University HospitalLocation: Pakistan, KarachiIntroduction:The Aga Khan University Hospital (AKUH) is a not-for-profit healthcare institute that offers all medical services to their patients under one roof. In recognition of its high quality and patient safety, the AKUH is accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI) as an Academic Medical Centre and its Clinical Laboratories are accredited by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for fast and accurate testing.Responsibilities:You will be responsible for the maintenance and management of all equipment used in the department in coordination with the Biomedical department, including handling preventive and corrective maintenance, managing inventory, and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure equipment are functional and calibrated. You will also be responsible to:

  • maintain and oversee the inventory of equipment used in the department, while ensuring that all items are accounted for, are in good working condition and timely calibrated
  • ensure timely preventive maintenance and address any complaints related to all types of equipment including handling repair and service requests efficiently
  • identify the need for new equipment and prepare requisitions for purchase to keep the inventory current and fully operational
  • conduct daily audits of all types of equipment to verify their condition and smooth functioning
  • work closely with the Biomedical and Warehouse departments for the repair of existing equipment and procurement of new ones
  • ensure timely installation and replacement of equipment in collaboration with the relevant departments
  • oversee the installation of IT equipment and coordinate with relevant departments for timely purchases and replacements, as per needs.
Requirements:You should have:
  • at least Intermediate certificate, preferably Bachelor?s degree in any relevant discipline
  • at least one year of relevant experience in equipment maintenance and inventory management
  • excellent interpersonal skills, particularly communication skills
  • ability to multi-task and effectively work in teams as well as independently
  • excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • proficiency in the use of computer applications, particularly MS Office
  • willingness to work in shifts.
